Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

Dont understand posters being happy he's away. I prefer Soldado to Ade, but unless we invest properly in the January window he's an option we need to have - at the moment its a misfiring Soldado or Kane who isnt really a lead the line striker. Forgetting about football issues, I hope he sorts himself out as theres clearly something not right at the moment....

In theory you are right, but he really is of no use to us at the moment after his performances this season.

Dont get me wrong Im not his biggest fan, but is he really no use at all? Against Palace would he not of been use to thrown on at some point? He still offers something IMO...

A probable negative presence at the club/training ground has been removed so I see an upturn in Tottenham's results a performances.

I think Ade has reached the end of his tenure at Spurs

- He obviously has personal challenges that like every other club he has played for, we have not been able to consistently overcome.
- As a result he is unreliable as a contributor to the team
- Poch's lineups have looked better without him
- If rumours of young player/dressing room challenges are to believed, he is not good for team morale as well.

Let him go "on leave" figure out how to ship him out.
Sign someone on January 1.

We can confirm that Emmanuel Adebayor has been given permission to return home for personal reasons.
This is a private matter and so we will not be providing any further comment.

Lol, it just gets worse, if he was in the real world there is no way he would hold a job down.

We need a new striker as an option

Of course! Thats why I said as things stand - if we do get an upgrade in then fine. I also do wonder how much his poor form is to do with personal things, as it does seem something isnt right with him and his family....

100%? Ade has never been a question of talent, or even effort (he works hard in a lot of his poor games).

His problem is he obviously is very weak mentally and over time, will always find something "personal" that affects his on field performances. I had this argument with others at the start of season, predicting this, hence saying we were better off gambling on anyone but Ade, because sadly, this is how it always turns out for him.

wish I was wrong ...

Adebayor is popular amongst the players - there is no split between groups of players and Ade hasn't been disruptive around the club by all accounts.

Clearly he has some serious mental issues going on - very strange for the club to let him go and tbh people should have a little sympathy regardless of what they think of him. Because he is rich and plays football, that mean's he has no right to be mentally damaged i guess?

Really? rumour suggest otherwise, a previous manager felt he needed him away from training with first team. A player can be popular and still disruptive.

Ade has played for Spurs, Scum, City, Real Madrid and has managed to **** each one up in turn. Yes he has had some tragic personal issues along the way, but the next personal problem is always around the corner. He hasn't matured, hasn't grown stronger for it.

Spurs is a team dying for a player like Ade to step up, average age of the team is generally under 23, he could be a leader on and off the pitch, his guidance and his goals could lead us to 4th this season (with how our peers are struggling). Unfortunately he won't be the person to do that, he will continue to have personal issues, continue to be a joker in dressing room vs. a leader, turn up late, let the team/fans/himself down.

He is mentally weak (I don't know if damaged is the right word), and I just don't see what Spurs will ever do that can change that.

As am employer if I had someone like Ade I would be looking to get rid. If it's not one thing it's another. Missed flights. Bereavement. Juju. And whatever else. You can't afford an expensive headache like him.

And if that doesn't happen?

With indianspur on this.

DTA - We've won without Ade on the pitch at Upton Park 1-0 , at Villa Park 2-1 and we've also won when he wasn't selected, away to Hull and home to Everton. We've won matches without him and we will do so again.
