Emerson Royal

I feel sorry for the guy in all honesty, 2 managers now that have played him in positions that he doesn't play.
But hopefully we'll never play a deep set flat back 4 ever again. So he'll never really work for us. But i think he'd be amazing somewhere like Serie A

Gil is not the first one I would call out. Ndombele, Spence, Biss, even Sonny (I mean I'm sure he can work on his first touch ffs) are ones that come to mind.

Gil, IMO doesn’t appear to to have taken action for his lack of physicality or strength. Nothing.
That’s on him
That’s something he should be improving upon

I don't know about that one. Watch the Sonsational documentary. He does 2 hours extra training at home every day with his dad.

Hope he gets his move and does well, took some shocking stick from a portion of our fans but always bounced back and did his job after the abuse.
For me it was always frustrating because he was criticised for being what he wasn't. If you wanted a solid dependable RB, excellent at 1v1 defending then he was your man but the fan base didn't want that. They wanted a flying wingback which rather unfairly he was never bought for in the first place, so many forget he was bought when we were playing an orthodox flat back 4 under Nuno.
