Emerson Royal

Royal today was getting peoples back up even when he did some good stuff
Bloke couldn’t win but IMO okayed ok

Yes, he made mistakes, a few bad passes and skying a goal opportunity that everyone wished had fallen for someone else, but also had some good moments.
We all know he is not good enough. But cheering (jeering) him for getting substituted off? Our fans need to take a look at themselves sometimes.

Royal is woeful and Conte must be a blind man to keep picking him.
Once again he was rubbish today - he gets into great positions and then the move dies. Every time.
It has got to the point where the opposition are very happy for us to give him the ball.
Earlier today Kane threw up his arms in exasperation when Royal messed up for the umpteenth time.
The only direct channel fans have to the manager, is on match day to let him know that Royal must not continue, he is destroying our game.
Royal's footballing ability is worse than BedfordSpurs' spelling.

I'm not his biggest fan, but fudge me, that was cruel. What the fudge are people up to? He's a human being for fudge's sake, and tries his best. But you know, drunk idiots thinking they can do as they please are everywhere around us. I felt really bad for Royal for that.

I also noticed that some macarons actually booed him during the first half, I wish those scumbags would fek off and support another club. My opinion of Royale is well known but even I would not boo him during a match or jeer him when he was substituted.

It's a very interesting debate.

Booing him isn't productive so don't boo him but also cheering him isn't okay either as that's obviously malicious use of sarcasm

Is there a hymn sheet available with the acceptable actions / gestures / songs for disgruntled fans that aren't going to hurt the feelings of our precious little darlings who are only doing their bestest?

I respect those that want to be positive about it all, its commendable and in many cases, especially during games they are better men than me, equally I believe booing our own individuals at games is wrong, collectively after a stinker I'm ok with but not targeted attacks.

That said, I don't think you can conflate booing at games and what's written on here and if the forum isn't for honest debate and opinions then there is likely no use for forums here or anywhere

Could not agree more, said it before and i will say it again any fans who boo one of our players wearing our shirt is a macaron.

There is. It’s called common sense and decency.

When Royal plays, Spurs are affected like an F1 car with no front wing. Like a jumbo jet with one engine out. It still tries to work and still does work but is massively hampered.

Ah yeah that's really objectively resolved the discussion then, great! When you're in the stands, only show sincere emotions on the condition that they must be positive irregardless of the reality of the situation...Have I got that right?

It can't feel great for Royal to hear thousands of people tut and groan when he shanks a cross 80 yards in the wrong way but it's a natural response. Obviously there's a way between that and some of the sickening abuse players get but the "repress your negative emotions in public" phalanx confuse me somewhat.
