Emerson Royal

He can’t kick up a fuss as he hasn’t got the credit in the bank
He just isn’t good enough
Not sure how he would kick up anything other than a shot or a cross I’m afraid
Said it last week and I stand by it… if we keep on accepting mediocrity we will achieve it
Dier gave a goal away today and has had some movements latterly, along with Hugo. Right now I’m of the opinion both of them two needs upgrading on too. But…. They do have some credit in the bank to earn some time
The point isn’t about whether Royal has credit in the bank or whatever. It’s about a guy who is giving his all even though he’s being played out of position and gets treated like that by fans. It’s not his fault the manager is picking him! Yeah let’s boo Royal for trying his best, yet let’s keep singing the name of the manager who keeps picking him - Conte is the one who is accountable for refusing to play a wing back in the wing back position. The treatment of Royal was disgusting and cringeworthy…..

fans need scape goats
Fans boo at half time
Your forgetting our fans are the most fickle in the country
The worst I saw was the treatment of Darren Bent
He wore earphones all the time when off the pitch so he didn’t hear the brick he was getting

Not sure Dan's need spacegoats, loads of over blown theories on here but the facts are that eventually fans can tell if a players is up to it or not in large. Fans don't have agendas or get together to decide who out the players they want to hate more than others, what happens is that after a prolonged period of time it generally becomes clearer who is going to take the club forward, should they get booed or abused, probably not, but I don't see it as some hangable crime for calling out a players limitation when we want to be going somewhere as a club, by the clubs own stated expectation not just our own

He’s a Woolwich fan so it was deserved…

Seriously though, we are getting a reputation and it’s not a good one…and not undeserved either.

I don't really condone the singling out of players but have been guilty of it before - i think the rising costs of going to the football has contributed to a change in attitude from support tbh

I think it’s because Conte keeps picking him every bloody week, regardless of how little he offers. It would be one thing if he was rotated along with Doherty and Spence but that hasn’t happened and Conte is refusing to use Spence for some reasons. Not saying Doherty or Spence would be the answer, but honestly I don’t see how we would be any worse off.

I don’t think we’re alone by any means. Arsenal booed Eboue and Xhaka. West Ham get on their players backs (Nigel mediocre).

I’ve seen a bit of media coverage of us booing the team off the pitch, particularly at half time. It’s happened a few times this season. BBC commented on it today and weren’t very complimentary.

I was angry hearing those HT boos too...as for Royale bashing, just pathetic!!!

A very fair point. Today I found my Sess frustration high (I ended up channeling into supportive stuff)...

It’s scary
Yet we still have spurs fans defend him
For a guy who we think can defend we concede a lot with him playing that’s all ill say

what ever happened to trust conte?
if you're scared of fans supporting royal what are your feelings for conte?

wait the goals today didn't come from royal's side. though he could be faulted for not being able to supply the goals.
in the end it was kulu to provided the crucial pass. so why don't we go over to the dier thread and vent instead?

The first goal came from Emerson Royal’s side. Robertson passed it to Darwin Nunez who then assisted Salah. Who do you think was defending Robertson?

I'm certainly guilty of an exasperated groan or comment/shout when Royal fails to put in a cross or puts in a cross that sails over every player in the box, or one that goes straight out of play. Replicate that around the ground, and that's a lot of exasperated groans and shouts which I am sure he will pick up on. But I don't see what is to be gained by actually booing a player. I get the frustrations felt, but I can't see it as anything other than counter-productive.
With half-time/full time booing - whilst it is not something I do or advocate - it is at least aimed at the team collective rather than singling out one individual

it did come from the left, but it was just a long punt forward, he’d have been a long way out of shape pressing that clam Robertson there
