I'm with you.

I've always thought that Porro would be a better makeshift LB than some of the choices we've made like Emerson. Are ew not better having Spence or Gray in their natural positions and the more accomplished Porro making the shift over to the other side?

If you have Porro and Gray/Spence as wing backs, you would rather change as little as possible in the back 4 i.e. keep Porro at right back

right now - better to rotate and let Spence have game time than risk injury to udogie who seems to get tired by the 60 min mark
even if it means getting porro to the left and spence on the right.

vdv can play marauding LB and dragusin in his place but its a more demanding role.

Came on as a 68th minute sub during Italy’s 1-0 win over Belgium, Vicario was on the bench.

Italy play France on Sunday evening.

Yeah, thankfully he’s understudy to Dimarco for Italy plus they play with 3 CBs so at least Udogie should get some much needed rest whilst on international break.
 
Another poor display from him. Watching him last year, I thought if he could become a bit more greedy around the box we could have the second coming if Gareth Bale. But he looks so far off it. He's a powerful lad but seems to be getting slower every time I watch him and him and Bissouma are such babies in the aerial contest. He just jumps into players and turns his body, absolutely no danger of him winning a header, it's pathetic for someone with his physique.

Might be that he got a much better contract. That can affect some players. I agree that he has regressed. His defensive recovery has been disappointing. I am sure other teams are pointing this out. Won't be shocked if Ange is requesting for another LB.

He most certainly looks to be too comfortable with regards to his shirt. There is no challenge!
