Dele Alli

I think you are letting Dele off way to easily here. The only thing Poch was guilty of regarding Dele was indulging him after his form fell off a cliff in the 2018/2019 season. He has been largely abysmal since then yet he still got picked most weeks until Mourinho came in. I think Jose initially thought there was still a great player in there somewhere and that the tough love approach might work. It didn't. Maybe the new manager and whatever approach they take with him will have more luck, but I think the only person who can bring back the old Dele, is Dele. Does he have the desire or will to do so?
The person who can bring back Dele is named Eriksen. As we no longer have him it's doubtful we will ever consistently see that kind of form from him again. Maybe if we have an Eriksen lite in the side it might happen.

What’s that worktop then it’s not stainless steel. Some sort of metal looks a bit ‘distressed’?

But it’s a nice dawg and he looks happy - that’s what it’s all about.

He did indulge him, he also moved him away from his best position.

Great players influence the game from anywhere though, he’ll need to work that out if he is to perform to the level of his ability.

He's not a great player and wasn't able to influence the play from anywhere. He's got a very specific set of attributes that suit a specific position. If setup in that way then he probably will get somewhere toward the form he had previously. If we never setup that way again I find it doubtful.

Is he another one to add to the burnt out by Poch list. I miss our manager as much as anyone, but he does seem to have left a trail of broken bodies and minds in his wake.

Maybe Alli was playing too much at too high an intensity and is just spent.

The fact we never won anything must have been so hard to take, having put in all the work in training and games to come up just short again and again. We've never really recovered as a club.
I hope he is not spent. He has had a good break over the last season. Assuming we get a good manager he will have him back motivated, physically in good shape and performing well.

I think we should sell him while the fee should still be a good one.

I agree, I think his time at Spurs is up. Problem is that Levy will price him as if he's the player he was 3/4 years ago. I don't think anyone would pay in excess £15m for him now. Would we sell for that?

He is still young though so i think we could get more then £15m.

Once dubbed a £100m player and we are now talking about £15m. I said we should have sold him 2 years ago, this has come back to bite us in the arse.

Played well against Sheffield. Not amazing but a few games in a row to get some good chemistry going and he could start delivering again.

Thought he really grew into the game. Expected rustiness and it showed, but he looked a lot more comfortable and effective in his last 20 minutes at least. To be fair Sheffield United didn't put up much of a fight at that point, but good to see.

Thought he looked really happy too, that's good too.

I thought he did ok; bit rusty as others have said. One thing which i felt worked against him was that he drifted wide more than he used to, or at least I thought he did. He's a big guy and better staying more centrally and closer to Kane I think

Good warm up for the harder battles ahead

Why though? my one concern with Mason is the lack of meritocracy so far in selection (he claimed Dele did something in training)

No way Dele deserves a start over Lucas at this point, give him 30 minutes to get time, but a strait out start?

Moura should be in before son on present form.
