The amount of excuses being made for Dele is interesting.
There isAgreed, but that's currently, there is definitely a way for Alli to force his way in ahead of Lamela. Unlike with Ndombele who is a force of nature. And Lamela will most likely get injured just as he's hitting firm anyway.
He has started 1 game all season. He cant be expected to be match fit. Dele is the new Luke Shaw
So funny how some post about Mourinho being past it as a manager and that his historic pedigree counts for nothing, even though I'm sure he won a cup or two in his last occupancy... yet want to give dele some sort of pass because of his history for us ...
At the very least it can be said that Mourinhos past it and still won things that any manager would take. Whereas Dele looks shockingly poor, not even average over the last year or so.
He possibly needs a move to revive his career. There is a player there for sure but perhaps his heart isn't in it at spurs.
I'd happy sell and replace rather than having this urge or willingness for him to miraculously turn things around.
He doesn't fit into the current managers plans, and I think it's only fair on all parties that he is moved on.
Not in the slightest but he has not hit his initial heights as a player that burst on to the scene. He looks a long long way off being that player.
I would have expected some sort of anything from him last night but he trudged along like Bale looking like he was just going through the motions.
Other than Harry who does fit his plans?
Sonny, Reguilon, Ndombele PEH, GLC and lamela (when fit) .. you know the players that have given maximum effort without many brain farts or lack of concentration

So Harry + 3.5 fit players. Ndombele only has an hour in the majority of the time.

the thing is he doesn't have to be as good as he was at his peak to be an effective player or of some use to us - no ones contributing to our goals coloum other than Son & Kane. in 25 legue games last season he scored 8 goals, we've played 22 so far this season and i think 7/8 goals extra would have benefitted us somewhat
On current for and application does he look like he will even get 8 shots on target?
But I think we do need a midfield player that can play to the system and chip in with goals. Bergwijn has had plenty of chances to chip in, but even then he is darting around the pitch showing massive effort or is involved in building up some threats.
I think Jose would be secretly pleased about the dive.... Dele trailed his leg to try to initiate the contact for a foul. Jose loves that sort of thing. There is
But he would have to stop getting booked for diving first . Thag cost him a chance to be more physical later on
Compared to the contribution Ndombele made in that role so far this season he would definitely have to get better than that to warrant regular starts.the thing is he doesn't have to be as good as he was at his peak to be an effective player or of some use to us - no ones contributing to our goals coloum other than Son & Kane. in 25 legue games last season he scored 8 goals, we've played 22 so far this season and i think 7/8 goals extra would have benefitted us somewhat
Again, I don’t know where the rhetoric that he didn’t put in any effort comes from?No one expects him to be match fit, but we can expect him to show some effort and not treat the game as its a kick around on the public park. Listen we all know he has talent but there comes a time when you need to see more in the way of effort.
That one confuses me a bit as well. He got back to help out at the back quite a few times. As should be expected from a player coming on in those circumstances mind, but he did it.Again, I don’t know where the rhetoric that he didn’t put in any effort comes from?
depends what you deem current form, last time he was played regulalry he was contributing - this season in the cup he was involved in creating a lot of chances. can you judge 'form' on one sub appearence?
Again, I don’t know where the rhetoric that he didn’t put in any effort comes from?
Not naive or silly enough to judge him on one game. But wait a minute, you were saying that we have had easy cup games and doesn't prove anything about Mourinho, at the very least we have won all the games bar last night. Dele i can safely say has not contributed in any of those games against opposition that should be "easy wins".
