Crossrail Piccies

I was going off the link in the previous post. The one about the German railway at the Euros. Which says the uk has more state spending on the railways.

I assumed we under funded it.
Also let’s not forget that over 50% of those subsidies are going to private train operating companies and freight operating companies that are mostly owned by foreign shareholders. Thank GHod for privatisation lol

Can you please educate me about the digital divide?

I think there's also a fair argument revolving around how speeds are used to divide those who can and cannot afford extra expense. Some areas definitely suffer 'throttling' and some areas simply don't have the infrastructure. In the US, where small rural communities are screwed by bricky internet, there's a satellite version called Starlink, which is owned (I believe) by Musk. It ain't that cheap, thus prices out many people in such areas whose only choice is bricky wifi or dodgy cell service. Even in your average hotel you can take the 'free' wifi or pay for a faster service which actually allows you to use the internet for things other than .dos messages.

My experience of WiFi around the world is pretty much everywhere it's a given that free WiFi is available, apart from the states, where they screw you for every byte.
