Cristian Romero

and yet, we need him - he orchestrates so well from the back, pings balls and carries so well going forward, we look and fwiw, i feel a lot better at the back with him in

him and vdv are my fave cb pairing since King and Woody, when they were fit- they have strengths which fit each other so well, read the game so well

A kid that came through our ranks and who will have trained with Romero.
Yeah
Was odd and bad taste at least
I’m a fan and a hater of Romero which I know sounds daft
That kind of thing is so typical of him. We’re going through some ADHD assessments right now for my son (no aggressive behaviour) and the traits are so similar to what I see of Romero
I know that sounds mad, especially from a distance, but all the big things I have read and seen are there for my son… and also there for what I’ve seen of Cuti

Furthermore, pause it on 17 seconds and you can see Parrott is wide open for the through ball, if the passer was world class e.g. Modric, it was a straight ball with Romero already sprinting out.

One of the key things Van Dijk does is standing up, jockeying players, making them pause for a second which gives others time to help, rather than diving in.

It is one of the most underrated defensive skills IMO.
