Champions League 2016/17 - Group E: CSKA Moscow, Bayer Leverkusen, Monaco

F*cked by Pot Four, so now we have a supremely even, crazily competitive group where anyone can go through and points will be hard as hell to come by.

I'm quite looking forward to it. :D No one to smash us, but every team on our level. Perfect competitiveness.

Once again, however, Arsenal rigged it with their group. As did Leicester.

Political reasons. Could be nasty scenes with supporters. don't you know Russia and Ukraine are virtually at war?

Draw procedure

  • No team can play a club from their own association, with the exact draw procedure to be confirmed before the ceremony.
  • Following a decision by the UEFA Executive Committee, Ukrainian and Russian teams cannot be drawn against each other.
 
On a side note - haven't we met all of the teams in our group in the Europea League/UEFA Cup group stages quite recently as well? Monaco last year, Leverkusen back in 2008 or something, and CSKA where we lost 2-0 away and put on a few youngsters at the end. 2010 ish?
 
With the lack of so called glamour ties, maybe we can avoid wearing ourselves out in these games this season.

we have to top that group. If we cant be confident with that lot then we may as well give up. They are 3 average sides
