As with all statistics, it's about context.
Annualise -1.1% and it becomes a -13.2% drop - pretty significant.
The forecast was to be a +1% rise so, annualise that and it's +12%.
Net margin of error of 25.2%.
That's not very good - someone, somewhere is fudging up.

To add. Last month when sales were up they were falling over themselves to say it was all due to the fuel strike panic buying. When in fact that was a relatively small figure. Aprils weather is the main factor. This current decent weather will make May a good month. June will be monster and then were into Euros and Olympics. From a retail perspective we've got a big year lined up
