Archie Gray

Was he injured? Didn’t watch the game but saw he came on in the 85th and then went off in 93rd?

Good experience, but he needs to learn when to release the ball. Lost it a few times bringing the ball forward and giving them a chance to counter

Looks comfortable when he does run with the ball. Hopefully see him at cm soon...
Great to see him get games and he is a great talent.

Those problems with when to release the ball may have been as a result of not being comfortable in that role. But it may also be because he's a young player still getting used to the system and level, while also playing in a team that definitely isn't firing.

When he gets games in midfield that needs not to be much of an issue either way.

Thought he had a very good game and looked confident it what he did, one or two mistakes maybe but he did not let it get to him and kept wanting and using the ball well.
I thought he looked pretty decent there and having a width of the pitch allowed him to travel with ball more and we saw glimpses of his passing range.

He’s going to be a great player.

He’s really been a lifesaver filling in for almost every position in our hamstrung defense this season.

Looking fwd to seeing him in CM at some point, would’ve probably been this weekend if we had a fit LCB.

What really impresses me his is confidence in is own ability and so calm at such a early age.

Guess it helps that he comes from a footballing family and already has a decent amount of first team experience for one so young, having played 52 games last last season.

At least we’re getting back into habit of loaning our youngsters out to get game time rather than thinking that training with first team only to sit on the bench is best for their development.

Reminds me a bit of Milner, bursts onto the scene around 17, plays in a very mature manner, fills in lots of positions and is reliable. Clearly got a lot of talent but isn't all flicks and tricks, just very solid and professional.

Milner had an incredible career across a lot of clubs, let's hope Archie can do the same but solely for us.

And hopefully, after he has been here for 15 years, some of you will remember he is called Gray rather than Grey.

Be nice wouldn't seeing as he is meant to be a central midfielder.
