I'd take an old, experienced pro with great positioning and good passing ahead of a real beast to be honest.

Yep, the extreme example of that is Modric still bossing it at 39 in CL

I hope we keep thinking about the odd/older pro to bring the experience/mentoring, we have lots of youth (with more to come next season), lots of legs, it's the closing/managing a game, managing the pressure, giving instructions on field.

Right now we have Son, Maddison, Richi, Solanke, Vic, Romero, Davies, Forster as the senior players, Forster & Davies will leave sooner vs. later, outside of Son, not sure who has that senior pro bit out of the rest.

Our older pros really aren’t that experienced at winning things

Players that I think would be absolutely transformational for us would be: Kimmich or Zubamendi.... Though sadly I don't think we would be able to attract either of them. If I were our recruitment department though I'd do everything I could to get one of them.

Options that might be more gettable could be Hakan Çalhanoğlu from Inter or Robert Andrich from Leverkusen.

Bringing ex Liverpool player Fabhino back from the Saudi league could also prove a good move (though I'm assuming ridiculous wages attracted him there). Another very good old pro languishing in Saudi is Marcelo Brozovic (same story re: finances though I'm sure).

Younger options that are ready now but could really blossom further in future would be Youssouf Fofana from Monaco, Jerdy Schouten from PSV, Samuele Ricci from Torino, Raphael Onyedika from Brugge or Arthur Vermeeren from RB Leipzig. Though I would instead rather go for an older head and let Gray develop.

Kimmich would've been the signing I'd have gone for early summer when it looked like he could be prised, I bleated about it for a bit!! I don't think his wages would be sanctioned sadly.

It really is sort of Davids-Carrick, or Naybet-King territory, except we are that much further along and a 'head' of that experience would be a huge difference.

The best idea is always to find people with experience of the league as well as having been around the block. So I'd look at City and Liverpool players like say Bernardo Silva, who have the ability still but a few prem seasons under their belt.

Was talking about David's just the other day with my mate. Someone like him would be amazing right now.

some of it is but it still takes a strong team mindset to get to a final and win it in International competitions.
Depends on your role in the team (as in captain etc…)
They have won back to back to back trophies now but it is a team with a lot of players who have won things at club level

We wouldn't pay the type of wages he'd want. Jesus is on £265k a week st arsenal. Guessing silva would want more.

I read somewhere that Emirates Marketing Project are going to offload Walker this summer. His experience of what it takes for a team to stay at the top year after year in multiple competitions could be invaluable for our young squad.
