If Ange is sacked I belive that would be manager 13 or 14 kicked to the kerb under Levy. Not sure sacking the manager is always the right call, let's face it we only have just one measly league cup to show for it in well over 2 decades.

To invest in so much youth and now to want to sack Ang is just foolishness in my opinion.

Right now its the fans making that noise

From everything connected to the club, there doesn't seem to be any of that panic, January will be an actions speak lower than words moment, Ange needs help, and help early.

That’s the football that also gets us results

I must admit I’m scratching my head why you’re so insistent that we deserved to win the game when surely it’s more important how open we are and how many chances we constantly cough up? We score loads of goals, we know that, that’s how we play but the flip side is we are far too open at the other end. Did you see the Arsenal game yesterday? How come they didn’t give up many chances to a very good Fulham side but we play them at home and they outplay us? Saying we deserved to win when we conceded 4 goals and could have conceded more is like rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic.
I didn’t say that
Haven’t said that once
I said they got lucky because they didn’t create as much as us

On Arsenal by the way… they had an xg of 2 yesterday but 1.7 form set piece
last year they average 1.3 goals from open play and half that this year
Arsenal did however concede the same about of goals to Fulham as we did
Scored the same amount too

I’m talking specifically about how they defend compared to how we defend. We play the worst teams in the league and still look vulnerable.

Yep
That can be an issue
But the the worse sides in thsi league can beat anyone
Southampton looked better than CL Villa the other day
It’s why the league is tight, tough and doesn’t take passengers
And arsenal are a defensive long ball side that have taken a ling time and a lot of money to get to that. Personally I think it’s weak football considering the talent they have and it will get them even lower points than last year
We’re trying to progress and play a different way
And it’s why I didn’t say we deserved to win the game

I have read most of the replies in this thread and although I am still Ange in there was one incident from Sunday that keeps going through my mind....

In the first half the ball went to VDV and he hoofed it down the pitch in a slightly exaggerated fashion.... It got an ironic cheer from the crowd but does it show that at times the players don't want to keep playing dangerously out of defence....

Romero's comments today seem to say that the players are behind Ange and i hope that is the case....

One good thing about this bad run is that we may buy a few first team starters in January... I can but hope....

COYS

It’s really not
We spent almost £90m on them I believe with the Croatian lad
And why would you attempt to move them on

I meant if a new manager doesn't want to play them/doesn't fancy them. Much easier to move on a young player on low-ish wages and who's fees were not extortiante than, say, a seasoned more expensive professional, e.g. Richarlison.

Young players bought early give an upside of good profits down the line if they become world class (e.g. Bale, Modric) and if they flop/don't work out etc it's not as big a loss financially (e.g. Jack Clarke)

We tend to buy big in January when it likes we are in a bad state and might get relegated or finish outside of Europe, so perhaps...

We won’t appoint a manager that doesn’t want them
That’s why Ange is here

I wasn't referring to just Ange in or out, ENIC have been the problem for a long time, when you'd rather invest in off-field activities rather than paying an extra 5m or 10m for a player that improves your team or you sack a manager day's before a cup final then if is clear it's not the players that are the problem.
The club has underfunded transfers for as long as I can remember and by doing so have damaged the club.
No different to how any other club operate. Club makes an assessment of a player's value versus what it would take to get them and also, other clubs are involved too. We outbid Liverpool for Willian for example, only to be gazumped by Chelsea.

For every player the club has not paid the asking price for there are an absolute catalogue of players we got our pants pulled down for also and it's so easy to just say "pay the f***ing money Levy". I personally wish Levy hadn't "paid the f***ing money" for Roberto Soldado, Paulinho, Davison Sanchez, Etienne Capoue, Serge Aurier, Tanguy N'Dombele, Giovanni Lo Celso, Ryan Sessegnon, Sergio Reguilon and so on and so forth....

In hindsight there are also quite a lot of players fans were absolutely up in arms about us not paying the asking price that absolutely now look like the right decision. Saido Berahino - bullet dodged. Morgan Schneiderlin. United ended up paying the asking price and he demonstrated he was nowhere near the requisite quality to justify it.

The real ones that got away for me were Joao Moutinho. Would have absolutely made that AVB team. How he played for Wolves in the PL in his 30s makes me sad. A Moutinho/Dembele/Sandro midfield with peak Bale floating about in front- yowzers!!!

Jack Grealish - feel like this is a sad one for both us and the player to an extent as don't think he's ever cemented himself as someone Pep absolutely trusts - he's in and out their team when I just look at the way he plays and he's a spurs player all day long...

There are more I'm sure but every club will have them.

I'm just not sure a different set of owners would have achieved anything different and they could have been a lot worse also.

I partially disagree. When Liverpool have decided they want a key player, they get it done quickly. Allison. Van Dyk. You'd even argue that once we fluffed the pillow for Diaz, they wasted no time getting it done. I won't get into Chelsea ot Emirates Marketing Project as I believe both operate in a nefarious fashion.

This is NOT just about the fee, but the wages. Let's start with the fee. I understand the need to make a deal as opposed to pay what we're first told to pay, but we have form and history for not just dragging out deals in order to try and squeeze a extra few quid. Wages. I believe we're 6th or 7th in terms of wages. If we want to aspire higher, then we will need to shift that figure. We have the means.

The three biggest losses in recent times in terms of players who were ours that we did not sign, are Mane, Winaldjum, and Grealish. The first two were wage-related, the latter was done and dusted but we played that 'squeeze a bit more value' and ended up fudging it up.

A player the manager REALLY wanted too. And we failed him. We didn't even do it conclusively, if I remember correctly there was some gonads at the 11th hour of deadline day which Levy/someone blamed as the reason we didn't sign him. Whatever the reason, we fudged it and fudged AVB on that one.

Absolutely. Another Poch dearly wanted. How many of his own KEY requests did Poch get over the years he was with us? At times he could've used them?
And how many times has Levy signed players in good enough time for the manager to have a close-season with them? Berbatov and Luka stand out as early birds in that sense. Not too many others.

Those supporters who wanted Sherwood sacked after just a few months, were they 'knee-jerkers' as well?
Yes they were. Sherwood had done a good job in decreasing the average age of the team while improving THFCs league position from 7th to 6th after taking over from AVB (not to mention making the football a thousand times more watchable)

I don't think it's knee jerk to want Ange gone as it's not just based on yesterday's result. It's more than a seasons worth of generally poor results and some quite horrific performances with little sign of learning or improvement.

Knee jerk is West Ham fans wanting rid of Lopetegui after 12 games.
‘More than a seasons worth of genrally poor results’….. We finished 6th last season with the 5th to 8h best squad in the PL. The new manager did very well.

This season we have shrunk the squad despite having several more games to play due to the Europa league.

I hear the money thing all the time
Where is the pot of money that isn’t being spent?
We lose money
We have a huge transfer debt too
And we spend every penny the club has on players and wages
I’m stumped as to where the delta is that we ain’t spending
It’s not on the finial reports because I’m a sad gut who read the publicly available elements
So how do you spend more
We cut our wage bill but brought more players in
I suspect we have a lower wage bill now but an even higher transfer debt and we were second in that list not that long ago
Now having sold Kane, royal, skipp, winks, Hojberg there will be money in but it was a debt only a year ago of £250m if I remember correctly
