I take your point, though personally I believe that any manager would have struggled in those first couple of season as Chelsea bought their team.

Now their ambition is paying off, but there was inevitable turbulence early on. Potter himself isn't a bad coach, just not one suited to that environment.

That would make him absolutely terrible at Spurs though - all the same upheaval, but without any of the ambition.

There's no need for upheaval should we change manager unless we go for a defensive manager

We've got a much better squad than Bournemouth. But he's got Bournemouth 4 points ahead of us.

We just need to use the squad much more smartly - Spence, Regulion, Lankshear and even Dorrington should have had minutes over the last month, so the rest of the players aren't so injured and fatigued.
I can’t defend anges use of the squad
It’s worse than contes and he was bad

This is a much better squad than either Conte or Mourinho had and probably better than what Poch had for his final 2 years or so

Without Kane and Son in his prime? I don't agree.

What most posters seem to be missing, is this squad is not available to Postecoglou either. We lament the defending but we're missing fit players. The two pens were horrific. We had a crack at winning that. Were close to 3-0 up. Should have been with lots of chances. Yes they had chances too. But I thought we had the better openings. Not much in it, but we seemed to have more, and we were 2-0 and 2-1 up at the time. What happened next deserves some analysis.

To be 2-1 and gift a pen, is not on Ange. You could say Bissouma was done, tired and lost it. I don't think Bentancur does that. And again, we'd draw if it wasn't for an equally stupid pen.

There is too much pressure at Spurs. At clubs like Brighton, the manager would be able to refine their setup, develop the team, and kick on. Not here it seems. And it holds us back massively.

Did he fail or did the club fail
This is the club that abbots summer had its players in marquees because they didn’t have enough changing rooms
And before people say look at the new guy… he is benefitting form other people’s work and doing his stuff really well too
The two clubs he's left gave not suffered, Brighton have went on with business as usual, the two managers after him at Chelsea have improved them.

I doubt that mate. Like we discussed before (though without agreement, iirc), our squad is pretty lower mid-table imo. No man can work miracles with what Postecoglou has got, so upheaval on the cheap will be necessary whoever comes in.

I dont think the squad is that bad
But when your massing so many players
Particularly ones in the same position your gonna suffer
Teams with deeper squad having spent a fortune have been crippled losing one man

Respectfully there is no point continuing a discussion here as our view on the quality of the squad available to the manager are poles apart. A manager who can have this team player at it's level has them top 6, a manager who can get then playing greater than the sum of their parts has them challenging top 4

That’s a sign of his good work too, no?
He leaves a legacy behind
The way Brighton play came from him for example
Brighton are a well oiled machine, they swop out players and management without breaking stride, it's a bit of a stretch to put that potter.
Chelsea were a mess, he can't take the blame for that but he looked lost there.
Poch, the perennial under achiever, did better, maresca is doing even better, again it's a big stretch to credit that to potter.

It's a pretty pointless comparison with a side not playing European football. All our managers have suffered from either playing ridiculously weakened teams in Europe, or playing a strong side in Europe and in the league and the league results suffering both because of the same reason - we don't have a great squad.

As much as some want to talk up how we do have a good squad, we have nothing more than some decent first teamers and some youngsters with potential which will take years for them to flourish if at all. The idea that Ireola would come in and have us competing on all fronts whilst magically making use of all the squad is extremely fanciful. He will end up having the same issues, issues that he doesn't have to worry about at Bournemouth......

And Brighton are run by Paul Barber. Ex Spurs.

Nah. The cups are his chance for something
I’ve booked my hotel in Bilbao
But he has to sue his youth oakyers
Stop square pegs in round holes

He's used Sarr extensively. Played the youngest player in our history. Played Gray often. He's playing a part in most games atm. Bergvall too. Which other players are you looking for him to use?

If fans back this approach of signing young players, we have to show some patience.

Fair enough - agreed, our views on the squad are too different to come to a consensus.

Ange has managed in the CL, iriola has larnaca and mirandes (who I've never even heard of) on his cv before Bournemouth, I can just imagine the meltdown.

They weren’t when he took over
They had Hughton negative football to deal with
