Says it all - this has been a poor season so far. All down to poor leadership at the top (Levy), what was he thinking when he appointed avb? Especially when Moyes practically said he'd be interested on the BBC!!
Yesterday was yet another example of what is wrong with our club. Years of mediocrity needs good leadership to shake off!

If ever there was an example of the X-Factor generation's need for instant gratification, there it is.

I'd love us to finish 4th this season (or better), but if not doing so is part of a long-term structure that allows us to compete without having a billionaire owner made rich by all kinds of human rights atrocities then fine. I'll be patient.

imo it was food poisoning combined with a serious case of bottling it Tottenham style which led to all that happened that day

i cannot think in the history of football of another team going through something like that.....lots of clubs have mega important games, league or cup, and yet what happened to the Spurs players that day in May seems to be pretty unique

If one day some butter decides to blow up the stadium when arsenal are playing i shall be out in the street straight away to dance a little jig of delight, same goes for Emirates Marketing Project and chelsea.

Yep im with you, where we finish is not that important to me, the club is headed in the right direction with setting up the youth teams to play in a defined way so they can fit better into the first team.

If we were ever brought out by a billionaire i would give it all up and focus 100% on the cycling. Football is dead, it died when city won the league and chelsea the euro cup. But tottenham will never die to me as long as we remain tottenham and that is enough for me. Still not watched match of the day this season of seen any games apart from tottenham and one brighton home match.

all this about yesterdays capitulation under AVB.....well, under Redknapp we had 2 famous capitulations, at Utd after being 2-0 up, and against the scum last year again after being 2-0 up. Both times we didnt go down to 10 men early on

its in the Spurs DNA to be brick mentally. I dont think AVB should be blamed for this aspect when its deeply ingrained in the club no matter the players no matter the managers

Explain this logically.
The players went missing as soon as we went 2-1 down yesterday because they're not of strong character. The likes of Lennon, Defoe, Huddlestone didnt want the ball anymore.
They didnt look down at their badge and think this is in the spurs dna or some gonads.
At the same time Sandro was still up for it and Bale was trying to take the game to Arsenal on his own.
Then AVB got them in at half time knocked some heads together and we came out and started playing with confidence again.

This bit not so much! But if they weren't playing and could be extinguished without bloodshed then I'm all for it.

Statistically, to get mass food poisoning the night before such a game, think it must be close to an impossibility myself, never happened before or since to my knowledge.

Part of not being owned by a billionaire is watching our best players leave - that will always happen unless we sell ourselves out like City or Chelsea.

Hopefully having a long term system in place (like those w4nkers up the road) we can continue a decent level of success even when they do leave.

But they'll stay longer than if we don't and because we are we are more likely to attract players nearer to their level.

Don't forget that we have also lost key players like King, Modric and VDV while missing Kaboul, Parker, BAE and Dembele through injury. It is not fair to judge AVB at this stage of the season when he is still unable to play his strongest first 11.

we also lost at home to wigan. drew at home to norwich (lost away to norwich, cup), toiled in europa league, drew at home with WBA (although considering their form not too bad)

Although i don't agree with the whole post i will say i do agree with the bit about Moyes. I don't see how you could possibly hire AVB when Moyes was an option. To me, Moyes would have sorted of our soft character and defeatist attitude when things are not going our way. Maybe it's because i rate him so highly but with Moyes at the helm i was confident we'd be doing very well indeed.

That said i don't actually think we're doing that bad now. AVB has done some good things (Well better than i expected) and needs time. With moyes i don't think he needed the amount of time AVB needs.

Chelsea at home was poor, but I agree that losing those other three matches is hardly a catastrophic.

King wasn't key anymore unfortunately. Modric gave us a nice wedge of cash to re-invest into the team (positive outlook on it I know) and VDV's departure was the Manager's choice. Parker won't get in ahead of Sandro and may well be off in January. Kaboul and Ekotto won't plug the leaks at the back as both of them are of a similar ilk in that they are good offensive defenders but not so good at defending. Dembele is a loss but we even without him we should be seeing off the likes of Wigan, Norwich, QPR much more comfortably than we have been.
