I like him, wouldn't mind him signing at all. In a possession based team that we'll be this season he'll be very useful, not pacey but good over the first 5 to 10 yards and has good end product.

IMO judging him on last season at Liverpool is like judging any of our players last season under Frank & Tudor.

The 24/25 season he was one of the best attacking players in the league in a side which was set up for another player.

He's never going to be a Ballon d’Or finalist but he can be a very effective player when played correctly and given confidence.

He literally scored the same amount and assisted 3 less in the prem last season than Tel, Odobert, Muani and Kudus combined. That was a bad season? I’d love to see a good one.

True but in reality you could apply that to Kane, Salah, Haaland, Mbappe etc.

Even without the ball the defender knows they are there
That’s why they are world class
Gakpo is a fine player though and one who has stepped up in the prem

I remember when Kane didn’t show up to training for a week somebody saying “It’s not a cup final Harry you can’t just not show up”

He seems the most obvious fit in line with the profile of other players we’ve signed. Coming into or already in their prime and with a few PL seasons experience, playing just about every week. I’d be happy with him joining.

Gakpo is similar to Tel ...good progress with the ball but end product lacking. He's an upgrade but not by much if we are looking at him for goals

that fee reaks of an FFP deal that the likes of Chelsea, Villa, Forest etc have been doing.. we’ll pay you x amount for him and you pay us y amount for Vuskovic a couple of weeks later and we’ll both book the profits..

50m for Van Hecke with 1 year left on his contract is not a true reflection of the market IMO. Just like 18 year old Villa players who’ve played less than 90 minutes in total in the top flight should not be going for 25m to Chelsea..

But on gakpo the guy is prem proven as a goal scoring wide player. There aren’t many like that
