Thomas Frank - Head Coach

His post-match press conference was awful. Amidst everything, he literally says there will always be average performances because that's football. Look, that might be the case but do NOT publicly admit that!!!! He also used the 'we finished 17th last year' line as a mitigation. Come on.

We are sitting on 5 set piece goals in the PL, I am not sure he does

Recently there was a table that showed without set-piece goals we'd have been top of the table* (though that's probably changed since as it was a couple of games back) so it's a funny line of attack on the manager

*Arsenal were deep in the bottom half of said table too iirc

Let me come ah this differently because I’ve heard it’s injuries that mean we don’t attack..
I looked at villas line up today and I think we’re comfortably comparable with the players we have available… yet we play rigid attacking football
All those Villa players have been there a few years though, they know what the manager wants. Our lot are a pretty new unit because of those injuries to the experienced players we’ve got.

He’d have been hated on by this fan base the same as Johnson / Richy are.
No he wouldn't, he'd be tread more like Kudus, as the only player with any attacking quality, and excused for any poor performance.

Although that ship has sailed and probably wouldn't ever have happened...all summer I've been saying we need to snap him up before anyone else does as it was obvious to see that he's ready to explode into a superstar. Although some people on here kept saying he's overrated and not what we need because we have Madison and Kulu.. baffling.

I’m fighting myself here, but this seems to be going one way at the moment

Guy needs some gravitas
Still say players reflect the man in charge in many ways

Trossard?

We had loads of experience out there today
The only “kid” was Odobert
yes I know but that’s not got anything to do with what I said.

I said our experienced attacking players were out injured, Kulu, Maddison, Solanke etc. So the players we did have in attacking areas are a new unit, e.g. not experienced in playing for Spurs let alone Frank.

That’s not saying we shouldn’t be better but I was just replying to your comparison to today’s Villa side.

Not sure I agree still
Villa are more settled in what their manager wants but they don’t have a striker scoring (we do weirdly) and are heavily reliant on one man in attack
The key is they park the bus or attempt to
They have a great manager too

That’s exactly what I’m saying so we do agree and plus they’re attacking line up today had all been there at least 18 months.

I think ppl say that, but their reactions say otherwise. Can we play better for sure, can we be more attacking, again definitely. Will we be able to so successfully? I doubt it personally because we don't have a well-rounded 11 imo. I get it, we played callow football today but if we had gone for it we probably still get spanked, would the reactions be any different? Maybe i'm wrong and we are ready to accept our truth and accept that if we play a balanced game it probably isn't a winning one in a match against this Arsenal.

Absolutely.
If I am going to get the brick kicked out of me, I'd rather do it fighting too than immediately curling into a ball and simply taking blows...

In my view he's done in the summer

The fans have not taken to him, I don't think he's blameless but we are now in a world with zero patience

are we at the point where mopo is the only one to get the vast majority of the fan base on side now?

But unless the Lewis family (rebranded themselves ) put their hand in their pockets we won't be troubling the top 4 for a while.
My gut feeling is the same - he won’t last long.
And Paratici will have a big say on whoever we get next.

That's cool and I'd feel the same. I'd rather go for it than not I just don't think it would have any any difference and I don't quite believe that the majority of fans would have accepted a 4-1 loss but with us being open and getting carved up.

I was thinking about this and usually when new owners come in they look to replace the manager as the first stage of implementing their new regime. Our owners technically haven’t changed but with Levy being ousted it certainly is the person who hired Frank gone. We have no idea how the Lewis’ will approach managerial decisions

Frank deserves this season and I think we will see improvement but as I’ve said before he needs to show improvements sooner rather than later

I’d rather we have a 1 in 10 chance of getting a result than a 1 in 50 chance.

Now we didn’t execute it. We’re a new side with a new attack that’s lacking quality. We need a top player in midfield imo and we need to give Frank time.

The only thing that concerns me is the negativity. It affects our home form, and undermines work in progress. Frank and the players need time to make mistakes, learn, and develop into a cohesive unit. Sadly, even old Spurs heads want everything today. When we were close to relegation last season and have now also lost Son, Maddison, Kulu and Solanke! Ffs. Frank is doing a sterling job with what he has and we just need to step back, drastically lower expectations, and let him build for a year or two. There’s too much pressure and not enough support.

Accept … no
Tolerate it as part of progress…. Yes

The way things have seemingly been framed is that the 'football men' would be in charge of that rather than the Lewis's - namely, Vini Paratichi & Lange

Thomas Frank out. I don’t want him at the club any longer. He clearly isn’t the right fit. He talks a good game but then the players play and we look empty of passion, no energy, sitting back and letting ourselves get beat. He’s basically repeated what Nuno did. Occasional wins but not enough. I know this may seem knee jerk but the performance today, and against Chelsea, two of the biggest games of the season, were totally unacceptable.
