Any manager who comes in has more on their plate than Toby CarveryTake away Kane, Son, Kulu, Maddison and Solanke from the starting 11, replace them with kids and players who have struggled to make the grade at other top clubs, and is anybody really surprised?
Do you guys think Frank understands what he is managing here?
The scale of the club and the expectations
He is one of many that punched up when at a lower side with no expectation but how many stepped up when given chances
Rogers… no
Martinez… no
Moyes.. no
Potter…. No
Poch is the nearest that I can think of that had won nothing until he came here, and still won nothing but made us look like we might (Kane helped)
But why can’t we defend when he has all his defenders available?I’ve no idea. But I’m not prepared to make the call after 4 months, and with most of our goal scoring creative players out injured.
Get back to me in the summer and I might be on the way to starting to form an opinion.
Yes we need better players but that doesn't absolve the manager. He is the one leaving creative players on the bench whilst playing two holding midfielders. The idea we shouldn't expect better attacking performances (or even just the odd attack) with the players available is crazy.....Take away Kane, Son, Kulu, Maddison and Solanke from the starting 11, replace them with kids and players who have struggled to make the grade at other top clubs, and is anybody really surprised?

It’s the constant defending we had to do today that caused issues. There was no respite from it and for me that’s caused by the way we set up. There was no outlet other than hit and hope Kudus or Richy can do something. But why can’t we defend when he has all his defenders available?
Surely you deal with the when you have as a manager and maximise what’s fit and available
You may think that he has
My post is valid because im asking who has stepped up form a side with no expectation to one that has
That’s what I’d be interested in hearing

I get there are attacking players missing but if we can only create chances when certain players are fit then it’s not sustainable
Since Poch, we keep going from one extreme to another, pragmatic or all out attack.
That's not the Spurs I chose. For me, we were the football playing team, the purists. I expect our managers to live the ethos Audere Est Facere. Not give up the ball as a strategy.

How is one I missed and he has sown a trophy so is a good exampleHowe is doing ok at Saudi Sportswashing Machine. Similar CV to Frank.
As I said back in the summer we as a fanbase would be best served by moving away from the idea of there being a quick-fix to turning us in to challengers, be that appointing a certain manager or buying the right player.
If we expect every manager to be an instant magic bullet then ultimately they will all come up short - Frank is as unlikely to be that man as whoever it is we appoint next and after that and so on. Doesn't mean we can't progress to a level before reassessing further down the line.
Our defenders aren't that great at defending, and defending isn't just from the nominally defensive players. Nor is it enacted just in a defensive phase. Defence also comes from the attack, primarily possession in that respect. Fear of your attack from the opposition also plays a part, when they can't push up quite as high, when they have to 2nd guess their positioning because of the threat the fear you possess. These are all the elements that plays a part in your own team's defensive capability. But why can’t we defend when he has all his defenders available?

This is the bit I don't understand. Is he missing a first choice defensive option? But why can’t we defend when he has all his defenders available?

We played Arsenal away last year with a defence ofThis is the bit I don't understand. Is he missing a first choice defensive option?
For me, he might have two good defensive midfielders but they don't get about the midfield and press aggressively. We need some more dynamic midfielders to press and help transition the ball into attack
