Savinho

Is it me, but this one is feeling like the MGW commentary from the media.

By that comment, I mean that Spurs had moved on but the press still wanted to keep the MGW story open. Is it perhaps the case that Spurs WERE interested in Sav but when the door shut they moved on? That would have been 2 weeks ago in their world.

Or like the Kudus one that was noisy, quiet for a fortnight, then happened

I think we have stepped back the absolute must is a 10, we need to get one in

Might take more of the budget.

You say that...but Sarr is playing quite like MGW. Not the most creative, but hard working, and actually quite effective in the number 10 role. I personally think Sarr will also score more than MGW does.

What we don't have is back-up and rotation for Sarr.

For me LW is more of an issue. We will get Kulu back at some point, and then Maddison too. If Kulu is back by November we maybe okay. What is lacking is LW. Son hasn't been replaced.

Johnson can do a job there. If he scores frequently getting on the end of Kudus crosses it can work. Especially if Johnson also starts to cut inside and shoot and score off his right foot. Johnson is written off time and again. And he keeps coming up with the goals.

That said I'd like someone to stretch the game on the left, and it is a bit of an unknown Johnson and Odobert playing there. They could both come good or underwelm.

Yeah, can't really explain that one. 16 June was when the window re-opened for the second time. Wiki has his move date as 10 July. There was another window open from 1-10 June. It was still 34 days into the available transfer window and after pre-season had started.

lol - that is as good as it gets at Spurs.

Have you forgotten about Tel?

Yes we are not really short of bodies. Just CL quality, proven attackers. Tel, Odobert have it all to prove. And need to develop. We have to be patient with them. Idk what Tels best position is. Or really what his best role is. He might make a great forward one day. Odobert looks perfect for the wing, at the moment as a sub and rotation option. So we could do with someone to fill that left sided berth. Imo.

It's annoying that Tel and Odobert seem a year or two off being the real deal, so we have a LOT of money tied up there, plus Moore coming through... mostly I'm thankful that we finally got rid of Werner, that was a lead weight dragging us down, and we also got money for Sonny which is good as he had gone off the boil... but I'm confused whether we really spent all that money on Tel for him to NOT start?

When you mention Werner, it feels like we are already hugely advanced not having him now!!! :D

Agreed and Tel moved clubs to play presumably. Yet he hasn't put it together really in games yet. You get the impression he might turn it on in training. And needs to relax in games. He fluffs his lines under the spotlight at the moment. I think he can settle and start to finish well. He has technique that he's not showing in games. But he's not good enough to start in the CL or PL week in and out quite yet. At 20 that's no suprise.
