Radu Drăgușin

will be great to get him back, him and Danso should be a real solid no fudging around pairing

With a manager that won't have them constantly running back towards their own goal, outnumbered, would be nice.

Really wouldn't be surprised if the next manager doesn't at least look at 3atb, pretty much everyone in our back line has some experience playing it, and some mix of 3 out of Romero, VDV, Danso, Dragusin could be interesting.

Porro, Spence, and Udogie should all be good options as more conventional wingbacks in a back 5.

We'll manage to Spurs it all up somehow though. Sounds like Romero may be off, for a start.

I actually think Porro, Udogie, Romero, Danso, Dragusin, maybe even VDV have all actually played in that system.

I'd rather Romero stays but if he isn't committed, we should move him on, get some cash, spend where we need most.

3 at the back is a dog brick formation. Too defensive and yet defenders hate playing it.

You are basically playing a CB instead of a CM, so losing ballplaying capacity and possession/competitiveness in the most important part of the pitch.

Not with inverted wing-backs

I don't think it too defensive at all. Just depends on how comfortable your defenders are on the ball and in tight spaces. Then if your wing backs have great stamina and touch it gives you great flexibility to switch from defence to attack (and vice versa).

Inter are solid but not defensive per say

He has posted a video on his instagram of him doing some light ball work and out running on the grass. Much further along than I thought he’d be. Good news especially if we keep Romero and Van de Ven this summer with Croatian coming in we might look to loan him back to Seria A or somewhere.

Glad to hear he's part of all squad meetings and feeling good about his recovery.
Don't think a player that's going to be marginalised and not in Frank's thinking would get an official announcement and video for a shirt number change.
Agreed.

I've been one of those more critical of his ball playing abilities and somewhat of his abilities to defend in a high line and in space. Frank should suit him much better though and wouldn't be surprised at all to see him do really well when back to full fitness.

Need to improve on our ball progression elsewhere perhaps to mitigate for some of his weaknesses, but we need to do that regardless. And if we're going to be going long more anyway when we struggle to get out his issues on the ball are less of a concern.

I have always been confident that this guy will be massive for us. I’m not judging his performance under Ange as the way we set up defensively even VVD would look shocking in that set up.

Good luck to him, thought he did well when he played and he is only 23 so should push on.

Like all the defenders, pretty confident he will be fine in a system that protects (and emphasizes solidity) vs. exposing.

Looks like CBs will be Romero, Danso, VDV, Dragusin, Kota, Davies going into season, I'd say that's as much depth as I can remember for a long time.

Think he was bought to cover the aerial deficiencies of VdV and Romero and that could be more of an asset under Frank. I dont think he's a great passer but does carry the ball forward well.
