Yves Bissouma

Seems a long time ago he was telling us that he’d never call a player out to the media.

Let's face it, a) he's absolutely right and b) he's probably giving up on staying too tru to such words when players such as Biss keep on letting him and the side down despite being protected several times over. How many times has he protected this player, who then responds by simply not showing up? I agree, it is against what he said he'd not do, but I think the possible truth is that he maybe feels 'what's the point' when protecting the players publicly yields such little positive response.

Think it's another case of not building a system around the skillsets of the players at your disposal personally

These are not world class players, they are very good players who have things they excel at and things they don't. Managers job is to build a system that lets them do the things they excel at. Otherwise we're in chequebook manager territory again and I've read many a time how Tottenham fans don't like that sort of management.

I’m not sure it’s a strategy that ever ends well for the manager. It’s another sign for me that he’s really struggling with the pressure at PL level. As I think you allude to on another thread, Steff, a decision to remove him now would be for his own good too.

No mate, bluntly I think we stay together until the end of the season. I think in the summer it will be best for all if he departs as I do think there is too much water under his bridge to ever fully recover...

Agree that it won’t happen. I do think it would be best for everyone if he went now, though. It’s a failed experiment.

Obviously just my opinion though!

I didn't see the game, but after watching the MOTD2 analysis there seemed to be more than just Biss offering poor levels of performance.

The key word Ange used in the presser was "confidence". He also talked about players going through phases. It is partially on the manager to help a player with confidence. I guess when you're 21 it's quite easy for a manager to get a player's head back into a confident mode. For the older guys it's probably more difficult.

I'm not sure we'll see much more of Biss in a Spurs shirt.

In fairness, he has repeatedly tried to stand by Bissouma. It hasn't 'taken'...

I think with older players it's far more likely they are doubting the system. They see the same brick we do and probably ask the same fudging questions we do.

It is bot Ange's fault that Bissouma consistently looses concentration and repeatedly gives the ball away cheaply.

At this stage, there has to be those searching topics amongst the private player discussions. When you think about it, some of them rode threw the storm of Conte leaving and the squad overhaul and must have felt life would be great by now. It's fallen flat and they have every right to be wondering wtf is going on.

Never been a fan of him when he was at Brighton and in all honesty i was dissapointed when we did sign him. Another player [ along with Maddison] whose hype was overated. imo
I thought Bissouma would be decent for us, but I was more impressed by Caicedo. Just seems like a different player here though. Only one good game against Man U earlier in the season... or was that last season... I don't even remember/care anymore.

The evidence to date is proving you correct but I thought he was outstanding with Brighton and, at 25m, a steal. He’s flattered to deceive at best under two managers now so you have to question the player.

For the first few weeks under Ange, we saw a glimpse of his potential. He’s running out of time at this point though.

He is not a bad player i agree but he imo is a hit and miss player and you never know what you are going to get from him. Add that to Maddison when they both have a game where they drift in and out and we have a big hole in our M/F. I would hope we get rid of both [ i doubt we will though].

Id def give Biss another year over Maddison. Partly because i reckon Donley could fill Maddison's shoes next season (as Kulu's understudy)
