Yves Bissouma

I hope Gray is both ready for that role and seen as ready for that role.

Several of our midfielders should be feeling the pressure of both Gray and Bergvall right now imo. Sarr and Bissouma getting yanked off at half time in the NLD doesn't exactly decrease that pressure.

I don't know, I always found getting yanked off at half time brought my pressure right down.

The oldies are always good.

Yep, Without Bentancur there's no calmness and creativity when progressing forward. Hopefully this is addressed in the Summer, As it doesn't look like it will be this window

Or we get Gray and Bergvall both in there regularly and see what they can do
He has been a big miss for me and i hope he can get fit and have a run in the team. Gray and Bergvall both have a lot of promise for sure but we are a better team with Bents in it.

It's awful watching an attack fizzle out after one of our players drives the ball up the field, then lays it off to Bissouma, and then Bissouma passes it 3 feet sideways to Sarr. Sarr then gives it back to Bissouma. Hot potato football has got to stop.
I genuinely thought you were gonna say:
It's awful watching an attack fizzle out after one of our players drives the ball up the field, then lays it off to Son or Johnson and you just know he is going to fail to beat his man.

In my opinion, Biss was a major reason we're in the FA cup. He has had to deal with Bents missing 7 games and then 2 more. In a 28 year old body, he has given his all for the club, yet keeps getting bashed every week by the fans. His 120 mins against Tamworth was epic, whilst his mates around him let him down....again.

As I've said many times, playing in an Ange midfield as a 6 is set up for failure. Biss has suffered more than most for this reason.

As for the 22 year old Sarr, we need patience but he was guilty as charged in the last few. His last great game was at least a month ago. When Gray and Bergvall get to the next level in this position they will also be judged like him. It's a tough gig.

We genuinely need them all sharing duties to get the best out of them. We've actually got some very decent midfielders.

There's a lot of things I could say that would be disappointing in that situation lol... serious relegation fears, unironically.

Neither Bissouma or Sarr should be getting bashing. I agree Bissouma has had some good games recently.

There's been a bit of chat about Lolo getting a contract offer but nothing about Bissouma.
I read some speculative article a few days back that Palace might be interested in him. If so, I wonder if Yves might perform us a great service by enabling a deal for Adam Wharton.

Bissouma's last five appearances (inc today)...

Arsenal - off at half-time
Brentford - off 68 mins
Liverpool - off 57 mins
Bournemouth - off at half-time
Fulham (today) - off at half-time

Agreed, Biss and Tel were very poor in the first half, so I expected them to be hauled off.
I was surprised when Johnson went off as I had forgotten he was even on the pitch.

Not sure if he is low on confidence. But as we saw last season and in some games this season, notably Liverpool in the CC, on his game he is a fine player. But tbh neither Biss nor Bentancur have looked particularly convincing at times playing in this system.

Hopefully one of the first players out the door in the summer. Indicative of the fact that none of our midfielders are standout players. They are all 5-6/10 players.

Serious question, did he play today? I watched the game and didnt really see him, admittedly missed the first 25 mins due to thinking it was a 2pm kick off and tuning in at 1:55pm.

He played at least a couple of passes behind a teammate straight off the pitch early on. I think you need a real tactical coach with a plan to get the best out of him. He'll probably be off in the summer though and I don't think many would complain. Like Ange said afterwards, Games seem to drift on by him.

I was pleased when we got Bissouma. He was excellent at Brighton. He has had a form slide of Dele proportions.
Another we need to move on.

I only watched Brighton and Bissouma in the big games which are totally different from 75% of the others. He was stunning in them but I guess he is a break player.

Seems a long time ago he was telling us that he’d never call a player out to the media.

Yep, Ange will say anything to suit a current narrative. So many contradictions in what he has said over his tenure at Spurs. There is a spin doctor thing about him that people are now seeing through.

As for a number 6 not playing well in an Ange tactical system. Nobody should be shocked by that. There is a reason why midfielders like Biss have lost their overall game and all of their confidence. It will be too late for Biss in our shirt. He'll find a club abroad and probably join the list of ex-Spur trophy winners.
