Son Heung-Min

Funny I thought he looked a bit better today then in previous weeks, granted not form from 2 years ago, but still better
Agreed. Had we had fully fit and match fit options on the bench I think he would have been subbed earlier. But looked better and fresher, no surprise.

The Son Graveyard, where Tottenham moves go to die.
You know he set Tel up for a big chance (shot straight at keeper), whipped in another dangerous cross that someone should have been on the end of and took on his man several times in that first half.

Second half granted he was much less effective, but by all accounts he picked up a knock. That is much much better then he has been and with Odobert now returning maybe we will see what a rested refreshed Son is like.

That’s what a rested Son looks like :). Much much more like it

He had Godfrey on toast so many times in the 1st half
Wasn't as effective in the second though but had a very good game, 2 more assists

As of February 22, 2025, Son Heung-min has provided 90 assists in 431 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur across all competitions.

In the Premier League, he has recorded 71 assists in 326 matches.

Notably, Son became Tottenham's all-time assist leader in the Premier League on December 10, 2023, surpassing the previous record of 68 assists held by Darren Anderton.

In the current 2024–2025 Premier League season, Son has contributed 9 assists in 23 matches

Let’s hope that’s right
My gut feel is that’s what son looks like playing against a player who isn’t a right back like it did in Europe

He needs to be managed, Elite player at back end of career, the other players need to help him now (as he has carried team for huge parts of his time here along with Kane)

Still effective and creates output, just need a little more rotation and cover.

Have to say I really don’t agree with what you say but we are where we are with him
If today is the start of him delivering again then great.

He hasn’t carried the team since the Poch era when Kane was out IMO. His numbers would and should be better too IMO (some woeful touches and some tinkle weak shooting)

Can’t fault him today from the highlights I’ve seen though but I’m just hoping it’s not because he was up against a brick player out of position. We know against city he thrives and they will have less rest than us so no excuses

Rumours around that United are wanting to sign him. This time they have no chance (unlike the Berbatov saga), Levy wont let him leave, he wont want to lose that revenue from the South Korean following every week

I'd usually agree but his contract expires in 2026.
I think it really depends on how much utd offer and if we have an extension.

Bit of rest. Players on the bench who can replace him if he tires so he doesn't have to manage his energy levels so much. That's the way to use Son now. And still a very good player in those circumstances.

Credit to Son, in recent weeks/months he for sure hasn't been great, but he left everything on the pitch. Now hopefully as we can manage him a bit better he'll be able to also produce those great moments both we and he love.

That's the way to use all our forwards now.
We replaced Son-Tel-Johnson with Odobert-Scarlett-Deki and of course Moore could not get on the pitch and we were missing Richie-Solanke too.
In every game, we should switch things around at 55 mins to keep all of those players fit and all of those players able to sprint at 100% for the whole match, no jogging.
