You pay for upside. Just like we paid 50m+ for 21 year old Sanchez. There's very little financial upside in signing Zaha.

Also who says he's better? Completely subjective and I disagree with you. Different players and Richarlison is absolutely deadly on his day, strong as an ox too.

Zaha is quick and not much else. Will only slow down in years to come.

Then I understand your valuations now. You just don’t rate Zaha, that’s fair enough.

Richarlson looked good for about 10 games

He then disappeared and actually showed a bit of an attitude when he wasn’t being played

I liked the look of him for £25m maybe

£50m puts him in the WC bracket so that’s a whole different level

Barce although being cheeky wanting Willian for 55-60m worth every penny if not more.

That’s the reverse of the issue with Zaha

I’d he had a nice Brazilian name he would be more respected and a higher value

I think Zaha is at peak value for a wide forward with his output tbh 60-70m would make him one of the most expensive players going, how much more would it be possible for him tp be worth?

Yes and Zaha is currently at least twice as good as Richarlison. Perhaps Richarlison will vastly improve in the next 4 or 5 years (although I would argue that he wouldn't get enough appearances in our shirt to do so as he is poorer by a large order of magnitude compared to our other attacking midfield options) or perhaps he won't. Zaha at £70 million is far better value than Richarlison for £50 million IMO.

I meant as a player... we hype up players because of where their form

Is his name was Zahzino and he was an attacker that dragged a huge team from bottom to 11th and they couldn’t win without him he would be a player that everyone would want

As he is an English player called Wilf it doesn’t quite carry the same gravitas in football

The one at Barca? Fair comment, certainly doesn't have much of a record having had a quick look, but i suppose he had age/potential on his side when they signed him from Dortmund - would liken that to how much we'd have valued Alli or Kane after their breakout seasons which wpuld have been equally high.

Think if any bias exists it's down to the stature of club the player plays for - any youmg englishman at a top club would be valued through the roof, young englishman at an unfashionable club, not so much.

Vvd was a youngish Dutch defender at an unfashionable English club.

I don't want to get bogged down on if he is a good signing or not but on the valuation in this crazy world I don't think 60m is unreasonable.

I thought he was African.

Not knocking him, would be happy to sign him as I have seen him play well. Never saw a player in Sissoko. At least Zaha has looked good, but then so did Bentley so what do I know.
