Would Sonny have saved us (like Jurgen in 98)?

I was just thinking. The last time we were this bad, under Gross in 1997/98, we moved in the winter to bring Klinsmann back. That proved decisive and his goals in the run in kept us up

As a parallel, did we perhaps not miss a trick not bringing Sonny back on loan during the January window, especially after the Kudus and Odobert injuries? If he was in Maddison's position last night, would he have got the decisive goal? Was he our moonshot that we never took?

Kudus was expected back at the start of April and Odobert didn't get injured until mid Feb.

But yes, I do think it would have been good. And I'm sure he would have bent a few in from 20 yards, even if as an impact sub

their whole action in feb was wrong.

They obviously thought we could just rise up a few places and didnt protect us properly.

Sonny had lost his legs for the Prem last year. but agree that he would still be 10x better than RKM and been a good impact sub.

BTW the whole Jurgen coming back to help us is a bit of a myth. He played eight games I think it was and got two in 7 before hitting 4 on the last day when we routed Wimbledon and was already safe. made his numbers look better.
