Would a Great Britain team have won a World Cup or Euros since 1966?

Here are some players that would have joined the England squads. I know some of the Northern Irish players would have played for Ireland.

60’s & 70’s
  • George Best from Northern Ireland
  • Dave Mackay, Jim Johnstone, Dennis Law, Billy Bremner from Scotland
  • Cliff Jones, John Charles, Josh Toshak from Wales
80’s
  • Kenny Dalglish, Graham Souness & Charlie Nicholas from Scotland.
  • Mark Hughes, Ian Rush & Neville Southall from Wales.
  • Norman Whiteside from Northern Ireland.

90’s
  • Ryan Giggs & Gary Speed from Wales.
  • Colin Hendry, Gary McAlliater & John Collins from Scotland

2000’s
  • Ryan Giggs & Craig Bellamy from Wales.

2010’s
  • Gareth Bale & Aaron Ramsey from Wales
  • Johnny Evans from Northern Ireland
  • Andy Robertson from Scotland

2020’s and current
  • Andy Robertson from Scotland

Scotland were very much on the decline by the mid 80s.
Hendry and Mcallister were dumplings and wouldn't be anywhere near a UK team, gough would have walked into it.
As would Davie Cooper in the late 70s early 80s, certainly before champagne Charlie. John Robertson, Willie Miller and Steve Archibald would also be very strong candidates.
The 70s with the likes of mcneil, mcgrain, greig, Jardine and quite a few others.
Scotlands record in major tournaments from the mid 60s to the mid 80s is nothing but a disgrace when you see the players available.
