World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

Kane should retire.

He was fudging disgrace tonight.

Talk of getting him back, fudge that, one of the laziest performances I've ever seen.

I was absolutely disgusted with him.
We had 12% possession after we went ahead and you are focusing on what our striker did? Seems a bit misplaced.

...although I agree that if we are gonna park the bus then get a Watkins or someone to stay up top and run the channels

It's funny really ....we pack the defensive line and the line in front of them.... yet Argentina several times had loads of space in those packed areas.

You just might as well not bother as you've actually added more risk. Bizarre.
I have never liked it
But I get it
It can work and we have seen it
Bur for me it isn’t something that works well in cup football because the team attacking have no option but to attack (if that makes sense)
At least if your going to do it, set up the attack with pace to counter
Rashford should have been on much earlier for rogers for example

We had 12% possession because he, as the first line of defence, wasn't putting the pressure on and causing turnovers.

You win games by working hard, he took the night off.

He was very poor in his effort. He was walking/jogging constantly when he could have been putting pressure on from the front. I lost count the number of times their players just drifted past him with the ball and he made zero effort to close.
I'm assuming (hoping) it is down to being knackered after the run of games in the tournament. But even earlier in the game, when the ball did get to him, he looked incredibly leggy and couldn't hold it up.

Hopefully FIFA will do their job and throw these donkey meat munchers out of the tourney for political messaging!

Southgate got absolutely destroyed for trying to defend a lead and ending up losing big games. Tuchel deserves the same scrutiny. Frankly, he absolutely bottled it tonight in a manner that is unforgivable. We had zero intent after going ahead and handed all the initiative to them. I maintain that this is a very average Argentina side but it deserved to win tonight and quite frankly 3 or 4-1 wouldn’t have flattered them.

Yet again, England has turned to brick when everything has been in their favour.
I think that’s not giving Argentina the credit they deserve. Might not be to everyone’s taste but they’re a hell of a good team. I think they’ll keep Spain out and maybe win on penalties.

Yet another semi-final has come and gone, and once again Kane hasn't turned up. The game just seems to pass him by when it matters most.

People will say England didn't attack or create enough, but Kane is supposed to be one of our creative players. He's the closest thing we have to a technical playmaker, a technician, so he has to take some responsibility too.

For all his quality, I don't think he has that killer instinct or the relentless, never-say-die mentality you see from so many Argentina players, for example.

At this point, I genuinely think England might have a better chance of winning a major tournament after Kane retires.

A word on Messi, anyone who knows me will know how much I love the man, he was a joy to watch again even if it was against us. He doesn’t need to score to impact a game.

Gutting but you could see it coming a mile off after those subs, we always say it but sit back against good teams and you usually get picked off eventually. Needed fresh legs and an outlet up top.

Feels like every tournament when we come up against a good technical team we go to defensive and give it away.

Having given Trump a made up peace prize I’m not sure Infantino can be trusted to make judgements on political messaging in football.

He was the key player for the gaol we scored
It was his pass that had their defence all over the place

I’d say that if, after the goal we didnt then sit balls deep we may, may have seen more of Kane

Sonny or MvdV might be able to score from this position camped on the edge of their own area but even in his prime Kane never had the pace to do that sort of thing and with no wide attacker left of the pitch for most of final quarter we were utterly toothless.
