Giovani dos Santos scored the winner against Scotland yesterday. He now has 104 caps for Mexico and could make their all-time top ten during the world cup.

Other Mexico factoids: Javier Hernandez is their all-time top scorer (49) and four of their world cup squad have more caps than the entire 23-man England squad.

Surprising. Maybe he's a bit of a taco? Anyone who has a tattoo of himself probably isn't someone you want to be cooped up with in Russia for a month.

I'd bring Sane instead of any one of Özil, Brandt or Draxler. Sane can change a game by himself. Neither of the others mentioned are capable of that.

neither can xavi or iniesta. this is the problem with english fans. too quick to pick players with bravado like lampard or gerrard who can "win matches on their own" over the likes of carrick/scholes.

whatever we think of ozil as spurs fans, he is quite obviously a footballing GHod. you dont win that many german goat awards otherwise

Pace and pressing from Mexico is great.

I was about to say they need to stop cutting back inside and start hitting it first time but he stuck it in anyway.

Still can’t believe Germany didn’t call up Klose.

It should be a rule that if the WC top goal scorer is still alive he has to play.
