Will Lankshear

I didnt see much of him at Oxford, he didn't look a bully at youth level. He is a big boy and he can look after himself.
I did
And he really did like the mature Kane manoeuvre of backing in
He also did target centre backs to take them with him
Have to add though the picture quality on skys overage of that divisions was so bad for the home games for Oxford

Think this is a massive mistake.

Would have preferred a loan.

Seems everything if up for sale in this transition, suppose everyone will just have to roll with it.

Truth is, once the first team is settled and its an improved environment, then they need to start with doing better with youth, I agree with not bringing them into a sh1te situation, but if we don't do it in a year or two when things are improved, then we never will

We have needed to be ruthless for years, its about time we started. It’s going to upset a lot of fans who have a soft spot for some of these youngsters but if it gets us back competing at the top of the table, i’m happy to take the sacrifice. There will be hundreds more “potential superstars” in our academy in the next few years, i’m sure we will be fine.

Not really
Academies can and do run dry quickly with players bro wanting to stay
This is a naive call imo
This is a player with all the tools and hasn’t had the opportunity
Give him a year and see

Yeah they know what they're doing!

.....it's what we've been saying all along.

I think this is a huge mistake. Why are we selling the future? Vuskovic, Bergvall, Lankshear. I appreciate that the first two may have wanted to leave to pursue first team football but it still doesn’t land well.

It puts greater emphasis on success now. If we are selling our future to pay for now then we really are fudged if it doesn’t land.

Hopefully once we have transformed our squad we will work on bringing back the youth and building for the future whilst minimal changes are required for the first team each window and so only a couple of big signings each window to keep everything fresh etc

I think Lankshear can be the new Kane for club and country.

We are letting them play, it's an issue if you don't let them go when they want as well.

If we don't think they are ready and they want to leave, best option is to sell and move on.

Stockpiling players and holding on to them is a lot worse and has cost us money and players like Scarlett a career

I said before any club with cash (that's us, innit?) would facilitate both to a level.

It's a little bit awkward this year as we have no Europe, so game time is harder to share round. But many could be loaned, they are young enough.

I think we have stock piled average players who also happen to be overseas ones
That’s a huge issue that the club is not getting closer or sorring
And offloading genuine talent is stupid when we should have a plan to get the integrated

I honestly think this is about improving cash flow/balance too
It’s 100% that imo
Pushing the can down the road with buy backs etc… but with a played who wants to be here it’s different imo
I get it with Vuscovic and Bergvall… they wanted to leave and it’s the best part of £100m in
We ain’t getting more than a tenth of that for Lankshear imo so it feels even more short sighted
