You're simply wrong though, the movement is there, it's clear as day. The players are not being brave enough to find the pass to match the movement.

Then why can't they work it out?? Maybe it's a collective of everything. Lack of confidence, ideas, form, plans
 
I certainly didn't sign up to argue with a keyboard warrior and I love the difference of opinion on here as i have for well over a decade of lurking so I won't disregard your opinion but thanks for the input. Very occasionally I feel compelled to post because people put it far more eloquently than me. I don't know why I bothered tbh, lost my brick after last night and struggled to hold it in...I'll go back to the shadows thanks Jrh

Apologies, but you still haven't explained your comment. What does 'not being 2 weeks in' have to do with anything?

Do you view learning and development to be a purely linear process?

Should being 20 weeks in mean we're 10 times more advanced than 2 weeks?

Based on your eloquent reply, I wager you know that's not how group progression works.

Season 1 8th
Season 2 8th
Season 3 5th
Season 4 2nd
Season 5 ….

Point is, you imagine some of our fans letting Ange get 8th this season and next? Hell they are complaining about 5th. We can’t keep going on the manager merry go round, we have to stick and “trust the process”, let him rebuild.

For me he has this season and next to start to put his plans in motion, then season 3 I will be looking for progress, but right now it is far too early.

It’s the only way to achieve anything in the game at this level
 
We have to stick with him even after the 2nd season as it's not relegation fears!

The past week has been pretty brick, and we've had a poor overall run in 2024, but it's quite obvious we're far from the finished article.

Ange's last comments clearly hints at what we all know; we have many players that are unsuitable for his style that needs to be moved on.

I like his approach, and while there are question marks about whether it will ultimately work in the PL, at least he needs to be given time to fully implement his ideas without all those players that are clearly not up for it.

I hope we will see further progress next season, but even if we still struggle, I would give Ange a third season before thinking about replacing him.

I haven't seen a single person complaining about our league position
 
And usually in the 4th or 5th year is when people are close to winning league. Unless we get jammy like Leicester. Don't know what year Poch was in when we pushed. 3rd or 4th? And if Ange wins a cup in that time. I'm happy!! But we cannot move him on next year....so while I will still probably moan after matches, we have to give it longer than we did with the previous as long as team changes
 
Really interesting presser.
A few key takeaways:
-sticking to philosophy is legitimate until it's not, then it's on me to change it
-maybe the PL is too far, we'll see
-progress for next season is playing the philosophy consistently
-progress is players developing
-recognising the reality that Spurs always fall at the last hurdle and changing that
-recognising we are doing a complete 180 on style

There is a clear undertone that Levy is prepared to stick by a rebuild, on the Arteta, Klopp angle.

Everything above is what we'd have expected in this season if we'd have written it down in July/August.
We were also expecting inconsistencies - but probably more week to week; instead we've got two distinct patches.

The end of that was really important - reminding the players that when it gets tough there isnt a release valve; you have to fight through it and grow through it to get somewhere.

For Ange at this exact moment - yes. The philosophy being embedded is core priority.
We'd have probably expected to be 8th, so finishing 5th or 6th is a positive, as is seeing the good and the bad side of the philosophy and the players relationship with it. All good tools for growth.
