Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I guess it depends on how one views a football club. As purely a business or not. Of course Lewis views it as any other business investment so, no doubt, is extremely pleased with his CEO.

Personally I think Levy did a brilliant job for a dozen years or so, probably better than any other chairman in the league. The last 5 years though have been extremely poor with several bad decisions.

Its an interesting view and you are right about the footballing side, but FTSE100s would be more interested in the pressure from shareholders to turn a profit. On that side he is unrivalled in the league from turning a 55m set of shares into what they are now. Thats what FTSE100a would concentrate on IMO.

On the football side you are of course correct but thats an emotional side thats really restricted to football.

It's not irrelevant. The best paid chairman in the league should be the best chairman in the league. Levy's salary at Spurs is upper half FTSE 100 CEO salary and I'm not sure members of the FTSE 100 would employ him as their CEO.
Those CEOs don't own a large chunk of the company they're working for.

This is the Ange thread, not the Levy thread.

Where is Ange right now, is he holidaying in Greece? We need some ITK to sidle up to him poolside and tell him which players to sell.

All of them bar Son, Romero, Sarr, Bentancur, Bissouma, Porro, Royal, Udogie and maybe Kane?

I'd keep Kulu too, as think we need 2 for that position and we know he is capable. And Skipp who I think will be positionally reliable when paired with a better partner than Hojbjerg.

Other than that I'd be open to offers for any of the rest,!

We don’t have Kulusevski yet so we can’t sell him. But yes, I think we should make his signing permanent.

I think Skipp is overrated just because he’s come through our youth system. He’s ok but I don’t think he’s beyond that. Hopefully next season he can prove me wrong and I will happily admit when I’m proved wrong.

Fair, was looking it as who we want to retain.

I'm the same that I want players I don't rate to prove me wrong but with Skipp I think he will show more with a better partner than Hojbjerg, but in a quietly effective disciplined and responsible way than a headline grabber which I think all teams need and may stand out more if the other players have a more attacking front foot remit.

I'm really down on Hojberg actually,I think he's overrated as he runs around a lot and points, hes also capable of some good turns and the odd goal, but as he is unpredictable I think he's difficult to partner with because of this.

If we set up like Celtic then I see us cashing in on PEH and looking to upgrade, who that might be would be anyones guess and I leave that up to people on here more knowledgeable than me on options.

But like you, his talents are vastly over talked up IMO

Hopefully, PEH isn’t great at all, bang average footballer.

I think PEH is likely to stay this summer as insurance for Bentancur whose initial return date is November. He’s back in light training already so may come back sooner but with Ange’s expected high intensity pressing game it might be a risk to rush him.
