If anything I could see Poch utilising Dier more as a central defender in the coming season. This signing gives us some great depth with the added bonus of being able to but up huge wall to prevent dropping points from a winning position which happened far too much last season.

Oh and the fee being talked about makes it a no-brainer.

With the Champions League and the suspensions that come with that position, plus Dier covering centre half, I'd say that Wanyama can be both behind Dier in the pecking order and still get plenty of football.

I'm looking forward to being 2-0 up in a game, bringing Wanyama off the bench to go alongside Dier and moving Dembele to number 10, and shutting sh1t down for a drama free end to the game!

add some pace with our backup CF signing and if we bring in another AM/WF and then along with N'Jie we should be able to not only shut teams out when leading but also hit them on the break, as opponents chuck everything forward, much more effectively too

Kenyan international midfielder has successfully completed his medical at Tottenham Hotspur and is expected to sign a 4 year deal today then after he will be unveiled officially.

That sounds pretty close to a done deal. I don't know much about him, apart from his name and nationality, and that he's a tough motherfooker. And if Poch has been working with him earlier, I'm sure he knows very well how Wanyama will fit into the team.

Great to start our transfer dealings early!

Only three of them are good enough to play regularly in the upper reaches of the PL though. This transfer window is not about quantity, its about getting quality...ie better cover for the first 11.

Son could perhaps get there however if you believe the rumours about who Poch pulled off at half time v Saudi Sportswashing Machine then Son and Mason's days at WHL are over. Chadli isnt up to the required level and its too early to judge Pritchard and Onomah

I also think its highly questionable whether Njie will have the footballing ability / basic skills (crossing, passing, control, dribbling etc) to play anywhere other than CF - at least at CF if he can use his pace to beat his man then he's clean through. If he beats his man in a deeper or wide position then he still needs to play a pass or beat someone else which i think is beyond him.

In most other positions we have some decent cover - AM and CF we dont

I think Poch will sign one this summer. If that has to mean departures then departures will happen.
