Agreed. They were even good when Suarez was missing for that 18-ish month period from about a year ago until last summer. Got a lot of previously underperforming players playing well and instilled a real style of play.

Really didn't think he was such a smug ******* at Swansea. Can't help feeling that he might have bought into his own hype a bit both with the way he's acting and some of his decisions. "Of course I can sort out Balotelli when everyone else has failed, I'm Brendon." "Of course I can keep getting performances out of Gerrard, even twice a week now, I'm Brendon." And so on... Just seems to over complicate things unnecessarily when he was on to a really good thing building a similar style to what he had at Swansea.

Think he's capable of turning them around though. Somewhat interestingly it was mentioned on the football weekly podcast today that apparently some sources at Liverpool had thought even last season that he wasn't up to the task.

Sure, he's made silly mistakes like buying a load of players with a lot of money as opposed to spending wisely on areas that need strengthening. But he is trying to implement these new guys into his system. We know how hard it was under AVB and even under Poch. It takes time.

Rodgers had it set but he set himself back a year or two when he decided to purchase a new squad. He will be back and Liverpool will be competing for top four but sacking him would be stupid.

I agree.

And although he, perhaps rightly, gets a lot of stick for his signings several of those he signed this summer were signed for the future. Players like Moreno, Can and Markovic can still very much come good. Lallana is a good player, as is Lambert. Balotelli was a gamble that so far hasn't paid off whilst Lovren looks a real dud. They also have the rather promising looking Origi coming in next summer.

Doesn't make much sense to allow him to spend that much on players for the future only to sack him at the first spot of bother.
 
Hope they don't get Cech or some other proven top class goalie in January. Could make a big difference for them.

Hopefully Rodgers will trust his instinct to pull a magic goalie rabbit out of a hat instead of making the obvious signing.

Although from what Scara has taught me about Northern England (apparently anything North of Luton?) it could just as well be a curse based on Leviticus 18:6: "No one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the Lord."

I find it unlikely that any Liverpool fans have sacrificed their children to Molek, but you never know (Lev. 18:21.)

More likely is an explanation that Warrior are causing this curse with their choice of fabric for the kits. Let's not forget "Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material." (Lev. 19:19)
