Victimpool FC - Klopp leaving, grown men crying

We really cannot laugh at Liverpool at all for now, They are plating some brilliant stuff it has to be said. I'd be VERY surprised if they don't make top 4
I think the performance is more important than the result. They are the best team in the league by a mile. We're still on track for a top 4 finish.

Agree unfortunately. I think 4th will be taken by one of Man Utd or Liverpool (though I'm not too upset by this, I wasn't expecting top 4 this season under AVB and am certainly not expecting it now under Sherwood).

Interestingly (certainly BoL will find this interesting!), in the 1st half, they have destroyed teams, scoring 29 goals and conceding just 7. In the 2nd half, they've scored 14 goals and conceded 14 goals. Do they take their foot off the gas in the 2nd half knowing they've effectively won the game? Or do they tire from the way they play? Will the same happen on a larger scale in the 2nd half of the season?

I'm not convinced but I certainly hope so!

Watching the game yesterday and it finally dawned on me that we are going to have to take them seriously again. Sticking with Rodgers has paid off, considering last season they had their worst start to a season in something like 70 years IIRC (need to check for definite)

When Gerrard returns from injury, however, he has to get a place in the starting X1, and that will disrupt the form they are in currently.

They are better without him!

uuurgh....hate to admit it but they were desperatley unlucky yesterday and I have to say they do look the 'top 4' part.

I was growing quite accustomed to finishing above them so dont want to admit defeat just yet....hopefully we can inch a little closer to them after Sunday...but by all intents and purposes they deserve to be where they are at the moment and I would say unless Suarez gets knobbled for a length of time I see no reason why they wont finish top 4.....in fact if I had to say now I would say the prem will finish.....1.City 2.Other lot 3.Liverpool 4.Chelsea...

unless of course we can manage something spectacular in the 2nd half of the season......we must get better at WHL.

That is what I was getting at. The form they have hit is due to him being out injured. Instead of the usual get the ball to Gerrard tactic that has been in use for the past decade, Henderson and Lucas can start playing their natural game.

Gerrard returning may detriment their season. Not being overly dramatic, they will still be playing well, but their momentum will wane.

Ok, they had the bad offside call but equally they should have conceded at least one penaltyt trough Skrtel.

Yes, they look good but they still overplay at the back, Mignolet has a mistake in him and I will continue to clutch at straws.

Yep, it's kind of game where as a fan of the club you can come away happy, because you stood toe to toe with the best team in the league so far and looked their equal. Fair play to Liverpool right now because you are great to watch.

I agree. I write you guys off at the beginning of the season, but I've changed my mind over the last few weeks.

Why does Lennon rarely ever make those off the ball runs that can cut open defences? Sterling made four of five of them yesterday, I love the curved run in behind to stay onside(although the lino got it horrible wrong). Has he been coached poorly or does he just not have it in him to "get in where it hurts"? He did it against Arsenal at home last year for his goal, that's about the only one I can remember, he's all too content to just sit wide and "maintain width/balance", he's the player who frustrates me the most because I believe he could've been a much better player than what he's become, I really don't think he's progressed at all since the age of 18. Sterling will go on to be the player Lennon should've been.

Yep. Still not enough of a goal threat considering he's an intelligent player.

Personally I don't see Sterling having the best career. Too ineffective, like Lennon, for large portions of a season.

I think he will end his career with more appearances in court than England caps

This post manages to be even more biased than Liverpool fans are against us on RAWK, and boy do we love to moan about that

Not possible mate, I'm sure they are on about how they will the title "again" this season and the hundred conspiracies that stopped them for the last 20. Fact is this board seems to go into panic mode every time Pool or the Scum put any kind of decent run together.

Here's the truth, both Scum and Pool are playing the best football for at least 5 years, both with a WC player firing. The big yet is, with that, with the usual suspects City/Cheat$ki/Manure/Us barely finding form, Pool is two points ahead of Everton, and the Scum have a one point lead.

Here's my prediction, The Scum will not finish in the top 2, and Pool will not finish in the top 3 (they have an outside chance at 4). And most of that will be clear by February.

No doubt BoL would say that Liverpool have played thoroughly inefficient football and will collapse during the run-in, just as our players ran out of steam in the weeks following the England job becoming available :-k

In like-for-like fixtures this season they are 7pts and 16 goals better off than us, we've only outdone them the once as they only managed to win by the 1 goal at Villa Park!

The Oracle of Melwood

Has anyone heard Brendan Rodgers' opinion on the Syrian Civil War yet? Because the guy seems to have an opinion about every other bloody thing at the moment. Pontificating away he is, like The Oracle of Melwood.

Two words Bren: Harry Redknapp. Keep your eye on the ball, stop thinking you've made it just because you've had 10 good games, and pipe down on opinions about things that have nothing to do with you. You're sounding like a sanctimonious ar$e at the moment.

We're not gonna out score anyone like for like but we can out ping them if (big if) we get our home act together

Liverpool yesterday were the better side IMO but they didn't take the chances they had and yeah there was a dodgy offside but as someone mentioned earlier Skrtel holds onto shirts better than hookers in a rugby team!!!!

If they bring Gerrard back in then there style will suffer as he hasn't shown anything this season to warrant a start over the players who have came in whilst he has been out

What was I preside yesterday was the pace they attacked with and it really reminded me of us in recent seasons, particularly at Villa a few years back with Bale, Lennon and VDV in full flow

We faded then and in currently expect them too as their squad isn't strong in the creative areas but ugh never know. Certainky in yesterday's performance they will be right up there

I missed the first half hour of their game (but saw the non-offside and Coutinho goal on MotD) and begrudgingly have to say these are the real deal.

The thing is a large part of football is about perception. If a team finishes 7th as they did last season then you think they can't finish three or more places higher the next, but I think instilling Rodgers is proving to be the correct decision on their behalf.

I wish we played football like they do this season. Players like Allen, Henderson and Sterling are hugely underrated by fans of other clubs. Sterling especially looks like he has the potential to be a top player as he combines the usual winger elements of pace and great dribbling with the less-seen attribute in a winger of intelligence. Some of his runs are great for a kid so young. The FA have already made excuses for England's future but with players like Barkley and Sterling waiting in the wings you have got to wonder why.

Emirates Marketing Project looked excellent in parts too. To think some of our fans giddily expected us to finish above them and win the title this season :D it was a fabulous game and I expect them both to finish in the top four, especially if they strengthen in January as you would expect them to do.

Emirates Marketing Project is the real deal, no question, that squad should walk the title -> 5 or 6 players I would take in a heartbeat.

Sterling looks like Lennon to me, with less mental stability, Allen and Henderson I disagree with, somebody like Lallana impresses me a lot more than those two.

Emirates Marketing Project are never gonna win anything with that dinosaur 442 formation of theirs ;)
