Don’t look likely if the press conference is anything to go by...Well then it has to be Parrott.

I hope this is downplaying expectation and he at least has a spot on the benchDon’t look likely if the press conference is anything to go by...
You can't really say he'll never get a look in. Not many 17/18 year old do to be honest, especially if the manager doesn't think they're ready. This is now fate, if he is not looked at as a better alternative to Lucas then he will never get a look in.
I rate Lucas highly but not as a striker.

Agreed.IF Jose says he is not ready ( and means it) then i think we should trust him on that.
And what makes you think he thinks he's ready? When we have no one else in his position then why not? Its called a gamble, United done it with 2 of their young strikers even when they didn’t need to and that paid off. The only person that knows if they are ready is Parrot, we made similar gambles with much more experienced strikers and look what happened.
We never take risks with youngster, they always have to be gradually put in and then they end up being flogged anyway. Apart from Tanganga, Kane and Winks how many academy players have come through the last 10 years that have not been sold off? Skip seems to have gone backwards and wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t end up in the Championship for the rest of his career.
My point is we have always tried to protect the kids and wait for them to be ready and 9/10 they were not good enough, so whats the harm in chucking a youngster in when we desperately need a player in that position? He has played under 23’s football and International football so its not like he is going into the unknown.

Tanganga played after both he and Jose thought he was ready
Even if Parrott was 'ready' he simply isn't match fit.
He hasn't played a game at any level in 10 full weeks.
Pathetic ain't it. We are really trying to ruin our youth players aren't we.
How do you get match fitness without matches? How do you get experience without experiences?

I think that this has got better under Mourinho, all of the academy players over 20 have now been sold or are out on loan. That means that we've promoted a lot of U18s to the U23 squad. I hope that Skipp and Parrott get good loans next season and get a seasons football under their belts.
Yeah it has got better I agree. But we have had matches when neither were on the bench and did not play under 23 either that weekend.
This. He's also two years older than Parrott. Tanganga is only a couple of months younger than Gedson.
The risk with rushing youngsters is that you put them under too much pressure, too early and they are unable to cope with it. Every player is different in this regard, which is why we have to trust the manager.
Couldn't disagree more with the bolded bit. Football is littered with players who thought they were ready earlier than they were. If Parrott is anything like most people, he will think he's ready. That doesn't mean he is right.
I'd trust the guy with almost 20 years management experience at the highest level to judge whether someone is ready or not.
