Triggers Broom.

The Triggers broom or Theseus's boat paradox.
Trigger replaced the handle of his broom 7 time and the head 5 times. Is it the same broom?
Similar with Theseus boat. Every board and rope and piece of sail were replaced.

The important bit is that every cell in your body is replaced every 7-10 years. So are you you? Or a replicant?
What is it that makes you you? Is it a memory of synaptic pathways. Or do you have a soul and essence that is fundementally you? Does the broom or the boat?

(Yeah i'm bored).

My old car is starting to feel like Trigger's broom. Costing me a fortune and every time I spend money on it I say I might as well keep it a while longer. Then something else goes wrong.
 
Similar questions apply to a football team one chooses to support which is unrecognisable a couple of years later, or to a stadium which is rebuilt on the site of the same burial ground as before. Hence the name I chose in a hurry after being banished from Spurs Community.

Is that just a concept we have though? Do we give meaning to something or does something have meaning inherrently?
We are just a collection of atoms arranged in a certain way yet somehow brings conciousness and self awareness. Does that actually have any meaning though?
Does a self driving car that is aware of it's surroundings and systems have conciousness?

(Yes i am drunk).

I'm not sure that we need to have such a strong association between consciousness and personal identity or persistence of memory. Conceivable to have either without the other.
