Transfer Tittle-Tattle

EXCLUSIVE By Pete O’Rourke

Tottenham have taken Northern Ireland teenage sensation Charlie Allen on trial with a view to signing him, Football Insider understands.

The 15-year-old is one of the most sought-after young attacking midfielders in the UK after catching the eye for Northern Irish champions Linfield.

A Spurs source has told Football Insider the club have invited Allen to North London for a trial period so that they can have a look at him at close quarters as they consider a move for him.

The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Emirates Marketing Project and Leicester have all shown an interest in Allen and now Tottenham are aiming to leapfrog them in the chase for his signature.

The 15-year-old became Linfield’s youngest-ever debutant when he made his first-team bow in their final game of last season at Coleraine in April.

He does not turn 16 until November and has been described by Linfield Academy director Glenn Ferguson as “one of the brightest prospects” he has seen.

Linfield are resigned to losing Allen in the near future with his long list of suitors expecting to firm up their interest with offers for the youngster.

In the latest Spurs news, it can be REVEALED that Mauricio Pochettino has launched a charm offensive to secure a signing worth £100m in fee and wages.

Still surprised by this one

MALCOM SET FOR ZENIT

Barcelona winger Malcom is set to join Zenit St Petersburg after the two clubs agreed a €40m (£36.5m) deal, according to Sky in Italy.

The 22-year-old will travel to Russia on Friday to undergo a medical and sign his contract with Zenit.

Zenit sporting director Javier Ribalta flew to Barcelona on Tuesday to finalise the deal, which will include up to €5m (£4.5m) in add-ons.

Malcom joined Barcelona in July last year, when the Catalans submitted a last-minute €41m bid to Bordeaux after Roma agreed a €40m deal with the Ligue 1 club.

Vincent Janssen has told De Telegraaf that he would join Tottenham Hotspur all over again, despite flopping in North London.

The Dutchman left Tottenham on a permanent basis to sign for Mexican side CF Monterrey earlier this month.

Spurs spent £17 million [The Mirror] on signing the former AZ Alkmaar hitman in 2016, but Janssen managed only two Premier League goals in 31 appearances during a disastrous debut season - one of which was a penalty.

Despite being one of Mauricio Pochettino's worst signings at the Lilywhites, the 25-year-old insists that he would still join the Premier League giants from AZ.

"The Tottenham chapter did not go the way we all wanted, but I think I would make the same choice if I had another chance," he told De Telegraaf.

"If you play at AZ and there is such a large club that you want, then you will be impressed as a young boy. Then say 'no'. And apart from the lesser moments I have it too learned a lot, both inside and outside the lines."

The fact that Janssen has gone to Mexico sort of sums up his decline over recent years.

He has 17 caps for the Netherlands under his belt, indicating he was a talented goalscorer at one point, but things have gone very badly and a failed stint at Fenerbahce during the 2017-18 campaign didn't help matters, nor did the injury which kept him out until December of last season, or the fact he only really played Under-23 games under Pochettino during the second half of the campaign.

You couldn't blame him if he hated everything about his stint at Tottenham but, to his credit, he seems philosophical about the whole thing.

For some reason an eager mod has locked the Janssen thread so Ill stick this here

Him and his agent think his body is fudged, and he's got one last payday. Hopefully not with us. Celtic fans love him, but then they're not paying a fee and big wages for him.

If rumours are true Celtic will sell but for mega bucks. They are stock piling cash in case they need it for legal matters.
It's rumour of course and the old firm do attract some real tin foil hat stuff but worth bearing in mind.

REAL LOOK TO VAN DE BEEK?

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move for Ajax's Donny van de Beek.

De Telegraaf say Real are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old, who could be an option if they can’t sign Paul Pogba.

It is reported a deal for Van de Beek would cost around 50m-60m euros while Pogba could cost 180m euros.

Legal matters?

A number of the youth coaches at the boys club have been convicted and jailed of abusing the lads. The club are trying to keep their distance and say its nothing to do with them as there is talk of suing the club. That's all very believable and possible.
The tinfoil hat rumours are that some of the abuse happened on a club tour of florida and a case will be raised for 10s or 100s of millions in a US Court. But that's probably bs and all part of the old firm madness.
