Transfer thread

I know there's a lot of love for Brozovic on here but regardless of how good he is, I'm really not sure that he's the type of CM which we need

I think he is the absolute perfect type of CM that we need…. Positionally excellent, hard worker, wins a lot of possession, but also has press resistance and is a progressive passer. Would be the perfect midfield partner for Bentacur.

Sarr has 13 starts and 7 sin appearances in the league so far. Not a bad total for a young player like him. If he'll be ready for us next season to make a real impact is of course a very different question.

According to Romano Brozovic is well on his way to signing a new contract with Inter.

I maintain that signing free transfer players could be really useful, but may already prove difficult for numerous reasons.
Romano does make it up though

Sarr is not going to be amazing, he barely plays for bottom half Metz. I would rather not risk that kind of money on players like Szoboszlai. Maehle is a decent player, better than what we have now. If Spencer is available for a smaller fee(under 10mil) then why not. Romagnoli and Belotti would be great and so would a HG back up keeper.

You should be on our coaching staff to have been able to warn them off signing such a dud.

He is exceptionally good and I would have him in a heartbeat. Sees a pass breaks up play. Would pay to watch him play.

I have said it for a few years but I think we need wholesale changes, much like when Arnseen turned up.

Not necessarily to spend lots of money but to change the dynamics of the squad because if we sign two or three players they get dragged down by the rest of the squad.

Personally I really like Nidi (spelling) at Leicester. Think him and Bissouma and Brozovic coming in would change the energy of that midfield while having Skipp and Devine there as well.

Defence would be harder and require more money and we have 40m already going for Romero. Would try and get Doyle from city, my mate who is a Sunderland fan raves about him(on loan there) we need to scout better because I think we need to get rid of a few and bring a few in.

So easy to upgrade the squad imo. Take guys from. I'd table teams in the epl. Problem is we got no money for that too.

it was mentioned above - the key is getting players off the wage bill this summer coming.

Forgetting who we as fans love and hate at the moment and just looking at the players we need to shift based on Conte's use of them, we're likely trying to get rid of Ndombele, Lo Celso, Doherty, Sanchez, Rodon, Gollini and possibly one of Bergwijn or Moura.

Some of those will go at the end of loans, but the rest will need some shifting.

I'm not sure about the terms of Gollini's loan as to an obligation to buy...

It's gonna be an a huge Summer splurge I tell you.... Huuuuuugeee

I know what you are all thinking, but this time it will actually happen.. forget this season and just wait, knowing we are going big in the Summer!

So you are saying that we may just go above break even?

As @Surfless alludes to, like always (to a certain degree) it’s going to be a question of outgoings that will shape our ability to move in the market.

I don’t want to be that guy to be constantly on about tempering expectations but describing our business in Jan as a “clear out” is only correct long term if we find permanent moves for our loanees (specifically the first team-ers we let go in Jan). Letting the guy called the most exciting young player in the world by a guy well revered on here on potential clauses in the future is bittersweet to say the least but is history now.

It is about looking forward and shaping the squad in a way to be genuinely competitive (who on here really thought we looked that way coming in to the season?!) but hope we’re not still dealing with getting rid of returned deadwood, it’s an easy excuse to justify us waiting until the next window to get things right...And then the next one..And the next..

Was looking at the championship to see how Middlesbrough was doing and I saw that Fulham's Mitrovic has 34 goals in 31 games. Worth considering as a Kane reserve, if we aren't highly pressed by HG numbers.

Sure they will want to keep him next season as they'll be in the prem. Would take a big bid to get him. Brereton will be out of contract (although i believe has a year extension clause). 22 can also play on the wings and english.

Brereton is the one for me

He certainly ticks a lot of boxes. I don't want a striker who sits on the bench all season then when is called upon is rusty. One that can cover the wings aswell would be ideal and a lot more useful. Homegrown aswell.
TBH I don’t rate him on the wing but he would get plenty of games up top with us IMO
