Transfer speculation

Couple of things
Italians aren't known for doing well abroad
And AC may spend big but have got huge financial problems. The guy who now owns them had to borrow nearly all the money in the end and the Chinese governmemt are all over it

As a right back option, how about the lad who played for Germany tonight from Hoffenheim I think.

Henrich?

For you the tournament is over herr Henrich.

Sorry, mate - I remember you telling me about the dodgy loan situation Milan had, but it completely slipped my mind. :p

I agree, there's a risk inherent in buying players out of Italy - recent Serie A signings seem to have been okay, though. Gabbiadini did well for Saints straight after arriving, Ogbonna's been...okay, I suppose, and Watford regularly get half their damn squad from Serie A and it doesn't seem to have done them too much harm, instability aside.

I think Bernardeschi's talented enough to merit risking our cash on. Given our financial limits relative to our competitors, we'll have to make riskier signings than our peers, or signings with less potential than the ones our peers make. I figure Bernardeschi at least falls into the category of being talented enough to potentially justify a big bid, while also being low-risk enough to overcome the fact that we'd be buying him from Serie A. Conti as well, possibly, although I'm less certain there given that I haven't actually watched the lad (unlike with Bernardeschi).

Quite annoying this new TV deal - we've got ourselves in to a great position through being sensible and forward planning, built a great team etc and now clubs like Everton can run around throwing 100k at players

Sooner it ends and Sky end up winning the next bid at only half the current amount the better.

I would fudging LOVE that to see the impact on half these clubs.

I think he meant Toljan. Not particularly impressed.
Wasn't he named as the right back in the "combined team of the tournament"?

I would be more than happy to have any of the players from that German team. I thought in the semi final against us they showed that they were technically superior to us while being more than a match for us physically.

The only question mark I would have over signing Toljan is whether he is far enough ahead of Kyle Walker Peters to make it worthwhile.

Yes he was

Everything I've read about him makes me think he is a player on the up
