Transfer speculation

Yea last nights game and the one at the weekend were a joke, let's not slag players off based on FIFA's scheduling incompetence.

England starting and ending the league season earlier than most other countries has nothing to do with FIFA. The international calendar is set out years in advance.

Whichever organisaton is at fault, it's certainly not the players who will have effectively and quite rightly been on holiday for a week or 2! Does FIFA/uefa/FA (delete as appropriate) want players available for their tournaments and friendlies 52 weeks of the year now?

Absolute joke.

At least none of our players are in that ridiculous confederations cup thing starting now

I think he is top notch and we will see it more next season at a club that won't be battling relegation

He will be an England player next season IMO

You may be right about that, however it seems everyman and his dog can get a run out ( at least once) in a England shirt. I am not saying he will not become a good player but the little i have seen of him has not really impressed me.

Fair comment

Did you see the Chelsea vs Hull game last season? He was the best player on the pitch by some way, attack wise and defence wise

Martin Keown has been begging him up all season and he is a good judge of centre backs

I honestly think he would make us even better as he would push Dier

No i did not see that game, i admit i have not seen a lot of him as i do not( will not) have Sky so very rarely see other teams players ( apart from when they play us). I see the occasional one at friends and i do watch MOD but as we know you do not always get a rounded view from that.

As for Dier i am not too worried about his overall form, he was outstanding the season before last and changing positions so often like he did last season has not really helped him. Add to that there are a lot of young players who having had such a good breakthrough season sometimes struggle to follow that up ( Alli is the exception more then the rule) the next year.

He will become stronger and i have no doubt he will go on and become a very important player for us and the England side.

I'm a big Dier fan but we need at least one more centre back and Maguire for me is available, a sensible price and still on the upwards curve. Has all the attributes we need

Well i guess we will see, at the moment the only club who have made a offer is Leicester.

Usually around this time of year people claiming to be ITK say that Levy is on holiday in the Bahamas with Joe until 6th July and Poch is on hols until 7th and the other involved parties will start making deals on X date... do we genuinely know if we are talking / doing deals right now? Is Levy in Porto eating sushi outside the ground etc?

We haven't even appointed a new scouting/recruitment team yet following the departures of Paul Mitchell, Rob McKenzie, Ian Broomfield and co., so presumably that will be the first step?

Ooh this tweet seems rather timely

It must be easy scouting for United, to be honest - get a list of the world's fifty most expensively-priced players and start from the top down.

Why do you think he's leaving them. ;)

It's basically Woodward callling Raiola or Mendes and asking for the most expensive thing he has available.

Michael Keane reportedly “changed his mind” over re-signing for Manchester United once he learnt Jose Mourinho wanted to sign two centre-backs.

The Burnley man held talks with United over returning to Old Trafford in a deal worth up to £25million, but according to The Times, Keane pulled out of a proposed move when he got wind of United’s intention to sign Victor Lindelof.

Lindelof completed a move to United from Benfica last night, in a deal which could top £39million. The Sweden centre-back has signed a four-year deal, with the option of a further year, after passing a medical at Carrington.

Keane, 24, though was put off by Mourinho’s intention to add another defender to his ranks and the report claims he “cooled on the idea of a move because he feared he would not get much game time, which would jeopardise his England chances”.
