Transfer speculation

Who do we need to sell?
  • If anyone is as silly as we were we'll sell Sissoko for £20-30m
  • The French wingers x 3?
If there is interest we might raise 20 to 40m.

Lamela should be back, but we need another quality attacking player - Isco or Coric perhaps. Poch will know if he sees enough in Janssen. It doesn't look too promising as he rarely turns to him off the bench. Yet started the season with Janssen paired with Kane, so obviously Janssen was playing well in training, and he saw something. I hope he keeps him, and shows more faith. If not we will need to spend big on a finisher. 2 or 3 signings is all we need if we can keep the core 1st team.

We definitely need to build the squad. Our first team is strong enough. We need to add squad depth, players who can we can rotate between starting and bench. We need better game changing options, that was the difference between the clams and ourselves today.

Coric I could see because we need another playmaker.

I like the french lad Nokodou how ever you spell his name, would like to see more of him because from what I have seen the is a player in there.

Some might accuse me of living in the past but I really think Siggy would be a great buy in our team, maybe if Lamela is made of glass we could get him back, another striker is a must. The way Poch is seemingly stalking Zaha I would think he wants a pacey player who can dribble.

Would like to see us sign the young striker at Forest, maybe one of the Murphy twins at Norwich, the one who plays and scores reminds me on Redmond at Saints the way he breezed past players.

This.

I really think we have ridden our luck and maybe how the team is set up others do chip in with goals, but I would like another striker who can score, not that I mind Janssen he is a hard worker and occupies defenders but we need someone to scare defenders as a goal threat.

Zaha and Coric would fit the team perfectly. Siggy if the Swans go down will be a bidding war, and he just misses a little too much. He's 90%. Almost. Not quite tho. We can't stand still, and need to reinforce. Eriksen has played almost every game...he needs backup and competition.

GKN is too raw - we need to send him out on loan for a full season similar to how we did with Rose and hope for the same result

Bring in Barkley as cover for Eriksen. Try to make Carasco from Athletico our big money signing for the summer; get our Belgians to try to convince him. Then get a youngish CB and very young CF.

Obviously sell Sissoko, plus Njie, Bentaleb and Fazio

I was interested to see @Danishfurniturelover saw GKN looks good. I thought he looked raw. But it made me think, maybe he does have something and just needs games. He is quick, and goes for it.

I agree, but not entirely - had we had Winks, Lamela and Rose available today, we'd have a strong bench, IMO. Our full strenght squad is much more than just a good first 11.

Remember Chelski only had Cahill out. And don't forget they have almost 70 first team players to choose from. No wonder they're well stacked with talent.

That said, I agree we need to strengthen the squad, but I don't think major changes are needed.

Well we wanted Batshuiyi and he has looked awful to me

He looked decent, I thought. The magnificent flick on to Pedro was what led to the first goal, and he held his own up front against three centre-backs despite being isolated for most of his spell on the field.

A bit like Janssen, hard to show your game in a new country when you only get a game here and there. I actually think someone like Costa or Agero would be ideal. Someone with lots of experience, who can complement the younger attacking players might be smart. But they probably won't fit our wage bill. A Kanoute, Sherringham, Klinsman...

I thought he was atrocious

Yeah he got that flick but that was his only touch forward I think

I wanted us to sign him and I raised this comment as a deliberate antagoniser to get a response

Their may be a player there but he hasn't shown it yet

I desperately wanted us to sign him as well. I'm not too fussed about him now because Janssen's our man and we need to stay behind him, but I felt he had a decent game. Certainly, he did about as well as Janssen could be expected to do in that situation. Whether that was worth the 13m extra Chelsea paid for him (versus what we paid for Janssen)...that's anyone's guess.

Actually they paid £32m so almost twice as much as Jansenn (according to a Chelsea fan I spoke to today)

Jansenn offers more in that role IMO. For a start he would have taken the pen
