Transfer speculation

Just three days to go now and I'm getting evermore fed up...

50 mil for walker, 18 for wimmer and 16 for bentaleb plus all the tv money that other clubs seem happy to spend.. I know that we have the stadium to pay for but the bench didn't look very strong on Sunday and we need more competition for places..

I have heard that in business you are either on the way up or on the way on the down.. At the moment, given our fantastic achievement in the league the last two seasons, we are heading downwards..

Unless we get Gareth back of course in which case the reluctance to 'waste' money on other players would seem shrewd management..

Lyon sign Diop
Lyon have completed the signing of Spain Under-19 midfielder Pape Cheikh Diop.

The 20-year-old, who had reportedly been on Tottenham’s radar, joins Bruno Genesio’s side from Celta Vigo for a reported fee of 10million euros (£9.3million), with a further 4million euros in add-ons.

Diop scored one goal in 22 LaLiga outings for Celta Vigo, with 17 of those appearances coming as a substitute.

Lyon tweeted a picture of Diop wearing the club kit and announced a press conference for Tuesday afternoon.

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas told the club’s official website: “We came to an agreement.

“He’s a young player. We’re making some high-end investments at the moment.”

Certainly leaving it late, though if we believe the rumours the Foyth and Aurier deals are more or less done so paperwork would be ready, pending signatures.

The Barkley one could potentially be linked to the op which someone in the Barkley thread said that he's just had - maybe we wanted to be able to see the results of that?

The above ones don't concern me as I think they'll happen; more ominous is the Balde to Monaco one as not sure who else we'd get from an attacking perspective. How abotu a cheeky bid for Raheem Sterling if Sanchez goes to Man C?? He gets a decent amount of goals for someone who isnt a regular and doesnt play as an out and out CF

2 years ago Son turned up from nowhere about this time and was better than all the WFs we'd been heavily linked with all summer (Timo Werner, Paul-Georges Ntep and Berahino).

As long as we fill the Walker-shaped hole with Aurier, any upgrade on Sissoko at AM will be a bonus.
