Goals are what separate the traditional top 6 from anyone else

the reason West Ham, Everton, Wolves, etc always fall short and Leicester sometimes achieve is a top level striker (Vardy is their difference)

But there is a difference between top 6, challenging for top 4 and actually winning, part of it prioritization, part of it is coaching, part of it is luck

With Kane and seemingly a manager that will get a system out of the team, we probably default to 5th, a few other settle in, shot at 4th. Without Kane we have 20+ goal/17+ assist problem to solve.

Saint Maxim is a very good player, unfortunately another one who signed a 6 year contract (in 2019)

I am surprised no one else has looked at him however

We have 1 nil wins to focus on so 37 more goals
It’s all down to systems and the team
You rightly mention Vardy. The year Leicester won the league it was Vardy supported by Mahrez scoring about 90% of their goals IIRC
I’m not saying we wouldn’t have to replace Kane by the way. We would. But the team is much much much more important

Should we be looking for an Eriksen type playmaker replacement?
Or should we persist with Moura, Bergwjin or Alli in the centre?

He's supposed to be quite good, problem is rumours of attitude problems (sound familiar)
 
James Maddison seems a decent player. improving, young. Good engine. Scores from free kicks. Maybe he wouldn't want to leave Leicester, but might be worth a try.
