He isn't really, he is an old man who is showing his age now unfortunately, he gets invited to games and might have a coffee and catch up at games, but his days of being a consultant or go to guy are way gone

On the Life Goals podcast the other day he kept refusing to talk about sensitive issues (manager search, first team scouting etc.) because he was still a club employee. He said he mainly works with academy-age recruiting now though, rather than senior players

He isn't some high ranking chief adviser though, his influence at the clubs hugely diminished over the years, as it should for a 78 year old man.

That’s a pretty decent standard

I doubt he'll go for 100M+ (if you meant at 70m I think there are more than two more expensive, Fernandez and Pogba for starters). Even if he does, cost doesn't always equate to ability. Fernandez hasn't shown he's worth that, Lukuaku is (twice) in the top 10 transfers, Pogba, Maguire, Antony (Utds transfers are even worse than ours), Havertz, Pepe, and the list goes on of players with big fees that weren't worth it.
He's a good player and would love for us to get him but not at that price.

Rice is the best central midfield player in the league IMO. Worth at least £100m. I suspect Emirates Marketing Project will swap a heap of cash and Kalvin Phillips for him.

Yep
But playing in a poor side arguably means he has to do more work as others are weaker so excelling can be harder
Either way
It shows he is bloody good player

By our standards we've done bloody well in major international tournaments of late.

There's a horrible link between the national team and Spurs of doing rather well but not really seeing it through but it's better than having had no hope in the first place, I think.....
