Tottenham vs Scum COC OMT

Not too bad a half, considering that we are fielding 3-4 players that are permanently out of their depth. No goal threat though, needs sorting out. Caroll + Townsend off for Alli & Son would be a good start.
 
It's a bit frustrating, but if we draw one of last seasons top 4 I feel like we can't treat this as a game to give back up players a 'run'.

We haven't been particularly bad, and Arsenal haven't been particularly good, but the game is essentially pointless as a spectacle. Whichever team's rusty fringe players make the most critical errors will dictate who wins this game. It may be Vorm and Fazio for us, it could well be Debuchy and Ospina for them. No amount of good coaching and tactical discipline will make the difference though, and this game will tell us nothing.

It's a shame. It would have been nice to draw Carlisle and give the back ups a run, but if you draw a team like Arsenal I just don't think you can give players their first game of the season and expect a win. We might still do it, but it will be dumb luck. So many silly errors from both teams makes it a very annoying watch.
 
We've been the better side and do not deserve to be behind. Expect Son to come on soon.

For me the problem with Carroll is he just doesn't get on the ball enough, good CMs always seem to know where to position themselves.

We have a head coach that whatever his strength, doesnt understand the club and what this fixture means to the club.
 
We've been okay, but not great. Struggling to create chances, but so are Arsenal. An even game really with both teams lacking cutting edge. Incredibly frustrating to give away a goal like that considering they didn't look likey creating one themselves. Poor by Vorm ad poor by the player who gave the ball away initially. I am not sure if it was Trippier or Fazio, but it was probably Fazio.

We're in a but of trouble now. They are game bring on Walcott eventually, and if we are chasing the game I don't fancy Fazio dealing Walcott on the counter-attack.

I think we need to get Carroll off and bring on Alli. Carroll is alright, but he never really creates anything. Dier also needs to get things a bit simpler than he has done in the first half and be a bit more physical defensively. I think he let Chamberlain turn him too easily on the goal.

Son for Townsend needs to happen fairly soon too. We can do this though. It's not a great Arsenal-side, and we put them under a bit of pressure late on. Up the tempo a bit in the final third and we can create opportunities. We just need to be careful and not get caught on the counter.
 
we need to stop playing players that arent good enough and never will be. there is no point playing fazio, he is simply brick. either play a proper player or go with some kids. carroll looks absolutely nowhere near, whilst townsend continues to underwhelm. as if hes going to turn into a reasonable player after being poor for three years.

im not happy having substandard squad rubbish at home against arsenal. id rather lose with some promising youngsters, or play a proper team.
 
Their goal (and shot leading up to it) is the only shot on target so far.

Need to just get some shots on target ffs. Come oooon yoooou Spuuuuurs.....!

What the fudge mate? .. sorry, I agree if its anybody but the Scum.

Seriously that squad selection really has me question Poch's understanding of the club he's managing

- You play Lloris against fudging Quarabag but not the Scum (that goal is 100% Vorm mistake, the one he makes everytime he plays)
- You have Son on a high, and he gets the bench?

Odds would have been much better to play best team today, keep momentum and if you get a poor result against City, who cares ...

Instead you pick a side that is likely to be unable to get past the Scum and what you really are doing is setting yourself up for two losses in a row and team back under pressure (after poor start to season)
