Finney Is Back
Andy Thompson
Seems to me that the manager has a ‘don’t lose’ game plan. When we’re behind at half time that goes out of the window and we look much better trying to play to get goals.1. We have to address our first half malaise. As noted on here before, teams look at us, see if you work hard first half you can pressure this team, turnover possession and score.
Conte has to address that first and foremost. Can we turn it to our advantage?
2. We have a decent squad.
But don't look settled. Maybe a few players out has impacted us, we don't seem to have a cohesive shape. Idk why. Sometimes we look lost positionally and too open.
3. We have to be better defensively. A commanding CB is a top priority for me. We have conceded far too many goals. Simple as that.
Both times we didn’t commit a player to getting level with their CBs so that Sessegnon could put a ball in between their GK and CBs. He had no ball on to play, with more confidence I suppose he could've held onto the ball and tried to make something happen himself (though that is excusing the poor commitment from our other attacking players to get into a decent potential goal scoring position).First 10 mins sess spaffed two crosses perisic would have put on a plate.
