7/10's all round for me. Would be harsh to give anyone a 6 bearing in mind the result, and perhaps only KWP and Eriksen might have warranted an 8/10

look at what he had to work with and what he was playing against, I'd have decided on hoofing it too

a 0-2 defeat is a decent result for them all things considered

lol i don't think that was benitez's idea.

his game plan was to attack down the left flank with two quick players and i thought it was a good one, they had two, maybe three quick counters penetrating deep into our half. all went awry with the red of course.

that said the way we play - our slow steady build up - we don't take full advantage of the extra man directly.

i also wonder how much longer benitez will stay. with more injuries and no investments, i don't think this is what he was expecting for managing them through the championship.

looking foward to chelsea now !
 
Flat game, took the boys some time to wind up the tempo, but never in danger.

First game, first win, away win, clean sheet, Dele on scoresheet, Erikson back to assists, job done.

Pretty much agree but I thought Dembele had a good game as well. In addition to his usual play, he broke through a couple of times early in the first half and covered well on a number of occasions for KWP.
You always feel confident when he's got the ball.
 
A good game against a team whose only gameplan was to defend with 10 men and try to attack by hoofing the ball long for Gayle to chase. It was only a matter of time before our class would break them down and Shlevey's red card only sped that up. We never broke out of 2nd gear the whole game and played the last 15 minutes at walking pace.

3pts and job done.
 
We were poor up until the sending off, if it had been 11 vs 11 i could have seen it being a 0-0.
 
I thought we looked pretty solid and in control. We're never going to do a first half blitz as is traditional in the PL. We patiently and methodically wear teams down.

world of difference between our approach and that of the dippers and the goons yet the press will cream themselves over the high scoring games
