*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Swansea City ***

Michu is a Spurs player through and through.

he actually reminds me of berbatov quite a bit.. weird. because he played a lot of his games as a deep lieing playmaker at celta vigo, got pushed forward at vallencayo and has continued in the same vein at swansea.
versatile, skillful, quick, tall, powerful and clinical finisher. as you say, spurs through and through.

Good first half, as per AvB's request, pressure high up, they were left to long range shots and those on the run. We'll have to be careful early on second half, grab a goal when we have another opportunity - and we've had some good ones. Was it walker with the thumping shot off the goalies arms ? Azza needs to cut in and run at them more, he can create space for others to drift into.

Keep it up, COYS !

think we need to use the wide areas much better come 2nd half. Not sure if i would make a change (we've been bossing it for a bit) but we do need to use those wide areas as Swansea is just packing everything in the middle. Once we spread them out a bit chances seem to open up a bit more

We've not done anywhere near enough with the possession we've been allowed. Hope we don't regret it.
Swansea will be happy with 0-0 at this point, they were 3 down at home at halftime last weekend.

Quick note on Defoe. 4 passes completed versus 3 shots taken!
It looks like one of those days where he's never gonna score tbh.

Southstand and Kingdawson... It's this mentality that is probably with over 50% of the WHL crowd, and that is often the problem. You can say it don't affect the players but we all know it does, because the players feel it. If this was United, they would be quite content knowing they will get the goal or two they need to win in the second half. Its mentality. We got this.

Good first half, all things considered. We kept possession well, and never looked unduly threatened. However;

1)That won't last. We will tire as the game wears on, and surrender possession more frequently as we try ever more unconventional means to break the deadlock.
2)Walker needs to stop those long-range inside passes to Lennon. It works when he's close to Lennon, and the full-back's gotten tight. But from afar, Davies has figured it out and is wise to the idea. We've lost possession a couple of times due to this.
3)The next twenty to thirty minutes will be crucial. We need to capitalise on our relative dominance, and penetrate more. If we continue to take long shots, as we've been doing for much of the first half, we might as well throw Sigurdsson on, he's good at them.

Laudrup has them set up to absorb pressure, and come out with the ball, a bit of counter attack. Not much space for us, but sometimes I think we are too static when we have the ball, off the ball movement could be better IMO.

Serious smash&grab fears

I just think a little extra strength, and desire in the box will see us score. Some of the passes/crosses Walker has put in have been very good. Word for Gallas, been very good so far today.

Dembele and Sandro just excellent. Completely squashed Britton, De Guzman and Ki so far. Keep it up. All about mental toughness this result.

Good first half but we desperately need someone to be able to deliver killer balls in the final third. They should tire quicker than us as they played midweek.
