The officials were really wonky, I have to say. Gave nearly everything to them, Clattenburg overruled his own linesman to do Arsenal a favour, and that goal shouldn't have stood.
 
In general performance has been ok, though we're not pressing the opposition like we were last season.

Can see Nkoudou coming on for Wimmer at some stage if it stays 1-0, and then Janssen for Kane at some point
 
Kane could have scored early on. We started so well, but after about 25-30 we seemed to lose ideas or drive. Good to see us start well though. What I'd give for a Sanchez or a Bale, an older player who could connect and drive our attacks. Even Sissoko would have been useful today.
 
We've set out to contain and we did it for 30 mins, but they seem to have worked us out, they are getting in behind our high line a lot towards the end of the half and Walcott was unlucky not to score.

We were neat and tidy for 30 mins and created a half-chance for Harry. Now we're one down and if the 2nd half carries on in the same way, they look like scoring more to be honest.

I'm not sure the current lineup/system has a way back into the game, but we don't have much on the bench to change it.

We need to stop pushing up so stupidly high with our backline, it's creating all their attacking play for them, just asking Ozil to play through balls into space for their fast attackers.

IMO, all we can do is defend deeper, try to keep it to only 1-0 until 10/15 mins to go and then see if we can get Janssen involved and nick an equaliser late on. I feel that if out backline keeps playing so high, they will get more chances 2nd half and we'll get done with a couple more goals.
 
What happened pressing? We have gone from a team with 5 players pressing from the front to one waiting to be attacked.

You can't press with two up front and Eriksen in behind. There isnt enough players and their starting positions arent wide enough.

When we got the ball we repeated played it back to our pointless spare defender.

Kane, Son, Eriksen and Wanyama have made a total of 0 tackles and 0 interceptions combined!


We need to move back to 4 at the back and stop playing for a draw.
This fixture isn't about clever tactics, its about wanting it more than them and being first to every ball.
 
I don't see us coming back sorry.
Kane is half fit and Eriksen half a man so its like 10 v 11!

I dont think you'll see this formation regularly once we get some players back. With Sissoko, Lamela and Dele out though we either went with this, or had to start Nkoudou.

Problem with this formation is that we lack numbers in advanced positions given we have three CBs and two CMs deep. By the time you add in two FBs out wide, that only leaves 3 players to threaten the box
 
We only have ourselves to blame so far. However I am hoping Poch can motivate the boys. We are 1-0 down. We have been here before and we came back putting those Gunners in that stadium in despair and down moods. WE CAN DO IT!
 
If they aren't offside Wimmer doesn't stretch awkwardly for the ball. Really harsh on us that goal.

Although that said, we haven't been great in the latter part of the half. I don't think Arsenal are particularly great, we just need to tweak a few things or get comfortable with a few situations and we'll be there.
